Malloy to ban gun sales to those on ‘watch lists’
WTNH ^

Posted on 12/11/2015 12:08:03 PM PST by matt04

Gov. Malloy wants Connecticut to become the first state in the nation to ban sales of guns and ammunition to anyone on the federal government’s terror watch lists.

He says he will do it by Executive Order and does not need the approval of the State Legislature. The announcement was seen live on News 8 and wtnh.com this afternoon.

The Governor said he does not know if anyone in Connecticut is on the ‘watch list’ but is working directly with the White House to gain access, saying that if Congress won’t act, then the states will.

According to some reports, there are close to 50,000 people on the Federal Government’s ‘Terror No Fly’ list. Maintained at the ‘Terrorist Screening Center’ within the FBI, the list was created by Presidential Directive after 9/11. .... When asked about reported errors on those watch lists, the Governor noted that there is an appeal process when someone is denied a firearms permit in Connecticut and those who were denied because they’re on the watch lists would have those same rights.

Comes a point that these lawless FFFF's need to be dangling with their feet madly trying to find purchase on something.

Well the problem, guv, as you well know, is that no one is told if they are on a watch list, there is no answer if you ask, and no process to get off or be reviewed.

Those are the "rights" that you want extended to gun owners.

Let's add Malloy to the list?!!
According to previous posts and links..someone can be added just by requesting that they be watched!!!

The no fly list is flawed.
It’s illogical to deny a gun to someone who is banned from flying
mallow cleared this with 0, so he can expect full support.
Violent criminals aren’t affected at all. This is designed to deny guns to non-violent citizens.

Interesting I didn’t know executive orders overrode the constitution or that rights can be denied without due process. Republican governors could use this newfound ability very creatively on many issues.

Everyone should be filing a FOIA request to determine if they are on this secret government list.

"Everyone should be filing a FOIA request to determine if they are on this secret government list."

Sadly, filing that request would probably be cause to put you on the list, whether you were there previously or not.

He referred to plural lists.

And wanted Fed cooperation for access to them.

So this is not just one no-fly list.

Could be on the list for many reasons....terrorist (non-Muslims only), supports U.S.Constitution, goes to church, didn’t vote for Obama, etc etc.

The first time Malloy violates a citizens constitutional rights absent due process he should be tried, convicted and jailed for abuse of power.

Whether or not there is an appeal process, this resembles prior restraint.

EXACTLY! I’ll bet 90% or more of the people on that list are “domestic terrorists,” which is what OZero and his communist followers call Christians who believe in the Constitution, including the Second Amendment!

Basically, they want to deny people their fundamental right to own guns based on those people’s belief in God (as opposed to Allah)! Once I cannot buy as many guns as I want (and can afford) as often as I want to, that’s when I will know that tyranny has arrived and so has the time for action.

I was visiting Connecticut and wanted to take a friend skeet shooting. Turns out that is impossible due to state gun laws. The owner of the range was very up tight!

Maybe there’s a list banning the sale of watches to people on the gun list.
