Year one with Mr. Fix It (Baker "boring but productive")
Boston Globe ^ | 12/14/15 | Meredith Warren

It seems a majority of Massachusetts voters actually prefer boring to blustery. In a recent poll that gauged support for governors across the United States, Baker earned a 74 percent approval rating from Massachusetts residents, a level of support no other governor could reach.

How does Baker make boring so appealing?

He seems to have figured out three qualities that are critical for getting things done, even in a state where his own Republican party is still a distinct minority.

For one thing, he plays well with others. Unlike his predecessors, Baker goes out of his way to make nice with leaders from the opposing party.

Baker’s team of advisers is packed with Democrats, including his chief secretary and chief of staff.

Old joke:

Wat’s the difference between a MA Republican and Democrat?

A Republican is always already to reach across the aisle to advance the Democrats’ agenda.

Some demonrats who were exposed to the wonders of EBT cards made the difference in that election. Market Basket was in the middle of a boycott of sorts and the EBT people filtered into beautiful people land.

Once these folks who normally vote D got an eyeful of the people they were supporting with their taxes and votes...the rest is history.

Once they got behind the curtain they took Obamas’ advice and voted for revenge. 3 full carts of free food on your dime will change your mind when you see it up close.

I called it the Demoulas’ effect. 40,000 votes...just about the right number of people exposed to our welfareian system.

And Baker won. Plus the demonrats thought they were gonna win big in Mass and sent their fraud units up to N.H. to take out Scott Brown. They didn't get back in time to vote against Baker.

But he is a purebred Rino. Make no mistake.

Inner city voting was lower than expected as well.

Republicans win the suburbs but are overwhelmed by the 90% Democrat voting populations of the cities.

Some in the burbs have voted demonrat for years. They know someone who is a teacher/fireman/police or other state employee and vote for the demons because of family and or friends.

But when they see what they saw at the check-out line in their grocery store...whoa boy. They held their nose and pulled the (R). Just to release the enormous anger they felt seeing the welfareians and those 3 carts of steak and lobster.

If we ever returned welfare/food-stamps/section 8/ back to the local level....demonrats would control nothing.

NOTHING!

There are 30+ GOP members of the legislature. Some of them are actually conservatives.
