Yes, it IS serious - when hundreds of thousands of people can be impacted on any given day at any given time.
Yeah, this is not one little high school where a kid doesn’t want to take his math final. THIS IS LIKE 12 DIFFERENT TOWNS CLOSING and we don’t close for weather EVER.

Flippant? The stupidity of this action is that an unverified twitter post, email, etc. caused a scholastic DEFCON 1.
Now we will see this same thing happen again tomorrow and the the next day and forever.
I agree. 3 years ago yesterday was Sandy Hook. It seems that many (not all) school shootings occur either at the end of the semester or just before Christmas break. I am bracing for something to happen in this country this week.
I looked at a few news reports from the LA area media. They were all reporting “terrorist”. This does sound serious.
Fear often makes people talk and act brave when there is no threat to themselves.
Not enough facts in evidence to determine if its credible or not. The deeper we go into the SB incident, the more inconceivably screwed up the whole national security apparatus is revealed to be.
They got a message, they shut down 900 schools in a city with the worst traffic in the country. Terrorist automatically won.
Also, why would the terrorists tip off authorities? Why wouldn’t they just execute the plan?
Nope, I’ll wait and see. 50/50 this is overreaction due to SB. It doesn’t take a genius to draw a line between the SB shooting and imagining that jihadis could shoot up a school in a very efficient manner.
Well before the jihadi threat, when I went to High School, there were dozens of bomb threats called in to the office of the school. Each time, we were ushered from the building without fail while the building was cleared.
That some of those calls were made by students is a certainty.
The threat is sufficient to disrupt, because every one must be taken seriously. Act on a bogus threat, and you look like a fool and activities are disrupted. Fail to act and anything blows up, and all Hell would break loose.
