The 2,009 page fiscal 2016 spending deal that the Republican House leadership released today authorizes $1,205,146,000,000 in federal outlays between now and the end of fiscal 2016, according to the Congressional Budget Office, and it does not prohibit funding of Planned Parenthood, according to the House Appropriations Committee.
The spending bill is paired with a separate 233-page tax bill.
âWe are maintaining all of our pro-life protections, including the Hyde Amendment, and we are making cuts to the UNFPA program,â House Speaker Paul Ryan said of the omnibus spending bill at a press conference today.
Planned Parenthood is the nationâs top abortion provider. In its latest annual report (2013-2014), it said that it did 327,653 abortions in fiscal 2013 (which ended on Sept. 30, 2013), and that in the year that ended on June 30, 2014, it received $528.4 million in government health services grants and reimbursements.
âLook in divided government, you donât get everything that you want,â Ryan said at his press conference. âRepublicans didnât get all that we wanted. Democrats didnât get all that they wanted. This is a bipartisan compromise. It is a bicameral compromise. And I understand that some people donât like some of the aspects of this. But that is the compromise that we have. And I do believe that we will have bipartisan votes on both of these bills.â
In its analysis of H.R. 2029ââThe Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2016ââthe CBO said that changes in law that will be made by the bill will have the net effect of increasing the federal deficit by $57.6 billion in the ten-year period from fiscal 2016 through fiscal 2025.
Paul Ryan is just as worthless as Boehner.
I’m not sad that the tyrants are on the march.
I’m sad that NO ONE is stopping these people.
We’re losing simply because there’s no opposition.
It’s such an easy takeover.
Sometimes I feel like Randy Quaid in the Independence day movie after the aliens appear...
“I told you people...”
And now people complain about it. Of boo freaking hoo. People should have listened to conservatives instead of the ‘no matter what’ liberals on FR and elsewhere.
No they don’t. They are very open about it. The leadership campaigned on working WITH Obama and liberals elected them to do it.
Sure they are worthy of blame and scorn. Not NEARLY at the level their voters deserve it. They knew and elected them anyway. No one has an excuse. No one. ESPECIALLY the liberals that ran around sites like FR screaming “It’s a lesser evil!” and NO MATTER WHAT!”
Well this is fully evil, the republicans committed it and the liberals here deserve to be held accountable every bit as much as Ryan and the DNCGOP.
I don’t know if Ryan is going after veterans like he did with the pensions a few years back, but the trend in governments at all levels will be cutting of benefits for people in general and government employees in particular including pensions while simultaneously raising taxes.
For the states this is needed to balance budgets.
At the federal level this will be necessary to find the money to finance the massive debt load that will top 20 trillion dollars by 2017.
People on the Left and the Right are going to become increasingly disgusted with what the Uniparty politicians will be doing in Washington and other places because the welfare state system of government we have is unsustainable.
In September 2016 they may bring up some stuff like PP funding to suck you into supporting their re-election in November, but it’s emotional wedge phony issues and show votes.
I see Paul Ryan is everything we expected of him..........
Oh boy.
Post/thread BUMP!
I dont think the chinese currency would inspire noble use of funds :), but points taken.
No doubt. But people need to experience pain. With enough pain comes clarity of thought.
I believe it was the American philosopher Burton C. Bell who said “I must suffer in slavery....suffer as a slave.”
Actually, he’s the lead singer for Fear Factory, but thats exactly what GOP voters demand. No matter what. It’s a lesser evil.
Correct.
Unfortunately, like everyone’s ‘precious little angel(s)’, ‘the issue is with YOUR rep, NOT mine’.
Plus, it’s hard to beat Santa Claus and the Blue Hair Brigade (”Don’t touch *MY* SS/MediXYZ”, cause, you know, they *paid* for it).
I thought we won a huge mandate from the American people in 2014 to put a stop to this nonsense.
What happened?!
I just turned on Fox news, first news I had today, moments ago, and it`s Marco Rubio on. I think they are pushing the guy(little bugger) true it could be coincidental, but I noticed it since the debate he has been on a lot.
Heck before the debate Brit Hume questioned Cruz honesty, said he was brilliant but had a problem with the truth at times (I am paraphrasing)
FUPR!
Did we really expect anything different?

The doc, with lots of links.
Don’t know where the funding for baby killing (planned parenthood) is hidden.
