This is a topic that I have often pondered.
It will require quite a balance to know when prevailing sentiment is in the favor of patriots.
People who are correct, yet ahead of their time, are referred to as the "lunatic fringe" or any other of a variety of insults.
Today's so-called "whackadoodle teabagger" is tomorrow's true "visionary patriot" in society. Tough call.

In our society, at this point in time, that is the case.

In Europe I think they're beyond that and have some hard catch up to do.

I think we're on the cusp, and those parts of the country that has disarmed their public will pay the piper first (CA).
