Sanders: Clinton's pursuit of 'regime change' in Libya helped rise of Isis

Bernie Sanders has accused Hillary Clinton of encouraging Islamic extremism in Libya, in a prelude to a Democratic debate on Saturday during which he is expected to go on the attack for the first time over the unintended consequences of the former secretary of state’s more interventionist foreign policy.

Speaking to the Guardian in an extensive pre-debate interview, the senator from Vermont criticised Clinton for carelessly fomenting regime change in Libya “without worrying” about the ensuing instability that has helped Islamic State forces take hold in the country.

“Regime change without worrying about what happens the day after you get rid of the dictator does not make a lot of sense,” Sanders said.

And - somehow Benghazi and the Turks and whatever else was happening with these planned regime change for Syria is also responsible. This is the only explanation that makes sense as to why the ambassador was not protected with standard routines and they did not want to send in forces to save them because it was a black ops that went bad. My view anyway. I think everyone in the Senate knows this but can't say it so they tried getting Clinton on some other Benghazi angle - maybe hoping she would spill the beans herself. I think Sen Graham and McCain were some of the Senators in on it also which is why Clinton was protected from the GOP investigation.

The reason I know Senators know is Rand Paul asked about the Turkish to Syria arms transfer from Libya and Clinton made a false face and waved it off. That was a telling sign for me. Paul tried to get her to spill the beans but she deflected.

They almost get it, but not quite. They, including some Repubs, think ISIS was inadvertent, the result of accidental chaos.

ISIS was a conscious decision. Had it not been for all the head-chopping, Obama and Clinton would be crowing and taking credit for it. As it is, its a PR problem forcing them to do a little obfuscation.

P.S. This is why I SUPPORT Putin’s actions in Syria. Russia is the only country sticking it to ISIS in order to prevent the ouster of Assad. Putin knows who takes Damascus if Assad leaves. I thank Putin for killing terrorists, the worst of the worse who seek total control of Syria and therefore the Middle East. ISIS AS A COUNTRY MUST NOT HAPPEN.
