To: Hugh the Scot

I have my great-great grandfather’s old Smith & Wesson
revolver. He was a lightkeeper on the Tenn. River early
last century. It’s lightweight, steady and LOUD. - They
used to make their own ammo for it. Daddy used to sit at
the kitchen table and pour the melted metal into the
bullet molds like he had seen his dad and grandfather do.
I have lots of earplugs, and LOUD is good I think. -
It was rough on the river back then; may still be.

I watched my father cast bullets on many an afternoon.

Nothing much will match the reliability of a S&W revolver or an old man. I suspect your great great grandfather was a real one.
