The people who care about issues already have a candidate and won’t change their minds.

That's as true now as 200 years ago.

For the vast majority of the electorate it's a vote for prom king. They are incapable of the thinking, usually, that allows them to see how an issue affects them.

But there are some...illegals...jihadis...homos...that average folks can perceive the impact to them.

Remember, the electorate has a AVERAGE IQ of 100. 50% have less than that. They're not real deep thinkers.

Probably 30% of the electorate can't make change.

It the essential failure of universal suffrage.
