"Make America Great Again" Ted coined it first in this campaign video.

Donald Trump announced his run June 16, 2015.

Those words that came out of Donalds mouth, and then emblazened on those red hats saying, "Make America Great Again" Hmmm where did we hear that one before Donald came along????

Yep, it was from Ted Cruz months earlier.

"It's a time for truth, a time to rise to the challenge just as Americans have always done. It's going to take a new generation of courageous Conservatives to help make America great again. And I'm ready to help lead that fight."

To me, it’s more proof that Ted or Donald have the sense to be our 45th.

Yeah, well, chalk it up to a missed opportunity.

I suggest Ted Cruz take up another motto: Make America Constitutional Again!

Or,

Make Government Small Again!

Or,

Don't Mess With America!

Wait. Texas may have a claim on that one.

Reagan had him beat by several decades, no?

And, didn’t I read somewhere about Trump trademarking the phrase just after the 2012 election?

Trump has copyrighted the slogan, and even if Cruz used it first (not sure about that), it belongs to Trump. He made that clear to Cruz when he was using it at a stump speech—Cruz hasn’t used it since.

It’s another way to say America isn’t great. Also, exceptional just means different.

The phrase was used by Ronald Reagan in 1979. But it seems such an obvious thing to say, I suspect it goes back much further.

I just looked this up...

>>Trump applied for a trademark for “Make America Great Again” in November 2012 — mere days after the last presidential election.

Trademark applications typically take a long time to process. Trump only received the “Make America Great Again” trademark in July of this year.

Trump started using it shortly after the 2012 election and even applied for copyrights to it.

“I suspect it goes back much further.”

I’m pretty sure John Adams used it once.

Regardless, not nearly enough of our politicians are saying this.

So far, only Trump and Cruz.
