Two Saudi Arabian nationals have been arrested and a third is wanted for illegally renting firearms and purchasing ammunition at a shooting range in Poway.
Saad Mutlak Alsahli, Muath Ahmed Alraqibah and Abdulrahman Abdullah Alolaymi rented a Sig Sauer 9mm pistol and a Bravo .223 caliber rifle and bought 100 rounds of .223 caliber ammunition and 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition at the Poway Weapons and Gear gun range for target practice, according to a Southern District of California court complaint.

“Nah, when I go to a public range here there are often Japanese tourist who rent everything, shoot a pile of ammo, and film the whole thing. Where they come from they never get to see firearms, let alone get the barrel hot. Bragging rights for the folks at home.”
We had the Japanese parents of an exchange student we had for a summer come for a visit, and going shooting was the top of the husband’s list ( along with driving a “big” American car). He couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn with my Sig 229, so at the end of the session, he had me put up a clean target and shoot one mag. He then took the target, folded it up and put it in his bag. My guess is that it’s on his wall back in Japan and he is probably bragging to his neighbors!
What the hell does that have to do with the story? If they were arrested for say having rented 8^) a prostitute, would the reporter have found it germane to the story to point out that the hooker was not born in California and came-from-out-of-state? And what the heck is up with all the hyphens?

I sometimes video the gun at the range to review for good practices afterwards and to see if there is an impressive frame to grab of flame or bullet/muzzle action.

IIRC right after the Boston Marathon attack they arrested a Saudi ‘prince’ who had pictures on his Facebook page of himself holding a 24k (allegedly) handgun. He was supposed to be at a school in N Dakota (or some remote school) but decided he’d rather study English at a school in Harvard Square. No, it wasn’t Harvard.
That alleged prince was injured during the attack, ran from authorities, ended up in the hospital, and our own first alleged lady visited him in the hospital. That was just before all charges against him were dropped and he was flown out of the country.
Aint life in the US grand.
