Cruz Super PAC Uses Rubio’s Own Ad Against Him

A super PAC supporting Texas Sen. Ted Cruz's presidential campaign is blasting Florida Sen. Marco Rubio's attitude toward foreign policy in a new ad appearing on Snapchat.

The 10-second spot by Keep the Promise I, one of a network of similarly named outside groups backing Cruz, juxtaposes the fight against ISIS and the need to stand up to Iran with a humorous video spot released by Rubio's campaign before one of last year's debates in which he was discussing his fantasy football picks.

“Yeah, I know I have a debate, but I've got to get this fantasy football thing right,” Rubio says in the video.

The Snapchat video a slice of a longer 30-second ad which will air on television and stream online as part of a $1 million effort in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina.

Whoever put that together needs to get a raise! Or at least a bonus.

I’m a Cruz supporter and I think it’s pretty weak.

This is a sharp ad, the kind that really will bite into Rubio’s support (what’s left of it).

Marrco was definitely stupid doing that original ad. Intended as humor, it only came off as looking lame and stupid to me. Incredibly lame and incredibly stupid.

I’m a Cruz supporter with mixed feelings on it.

1. I don’t like attack ads. Rubio deserves it, but still...
2. It is dumb to place Putin on the enemies list like that. Trump’s approach is better. Sorry. I seriously do not want Trump to win but here and there, he has the better position. Ideas matter more than people. I think it is dumb to label Putin an enemy in a campaign ad. We are not at war with Russia. The US and NATO were recently added to Russia’s list of security risks. Why feed it? Why not work to prove we are not their enemy instead of flippantly confirm we are with cutesy campaign ads? Seems undiplomatic. ISIS, yes. We are at war with them.
3. The good: Very well put together ad.

Fantasy footbally? Really? Who is putting together ads for Cruz? The Contributon one yesterday, and now talking about fantasy football? There are a lot of things to hit Rubio on.... Fantasy Football even metaphorically is tedious...
