“I need to get home,” he said. “I got cows that are scattered and lost.”

The cows are going to have to wait until he makes bail.

Perhaps they are not Trustifarians like the stinky patchouli oil and body odor crowd at Occupy Wall Street.

They didn't think this through.

They thought they would become local heroes and that they would "swim in the sea of the people."

You can't eat wishes and dreams.

Well, they're already taking handouts to stay fed, and they're definitely not getting hot baths.

So they're on the OWS path.

The usfws is starting to put the screws on. No power, water and access. All the snow and alkali flats you would want. Then there is that wind.

Their cause was just, their means was just not appropriate for the cause.

Taking over a Federal cabin even if it is in the middle of no where and uninhabited is no way to effect federal policy. Washington cares no more about the cabin than they do about any of the other western lands and people.

Taking over a small bit of it is nothing more than an afrount to their power, as unjust as it may be. The only thing you can do is force them to overplay their hand. Unfortunately this is not the right settling to do it in.

You have to be defending your own home in peace, to iliscit the sympathy of the people. Taking over federal property even that which is unoccupied, unjustly owned, and insignificant gives them the moral high ground by making you the aggressor.

Its best to make nice here, Explain that this was a protest and that your efforts to bring attention to your cause got out of hand. Then ask to leave in peace with a small fine.

Dude. They prosecuted the Hammonds for TERRORISM for setting a backfire. There will be no small fine. There will be prison. It will be a maximum sentence. An example will be made.

My bet is they will ultimately grow weary, hungry, cold...and finally drive home after paying their fine.
I simply can't imagine them serving any jail / prison time for this low-stakes protest.

Well, that's kind of funny since the stimulus of their action was the iron-fisted fascism of the federal courts against the Hammonds.

Nevertheless, they did make their point, and a strategic stand-down would seem to be indicated.

They got it out to the public (at least a small portion). The Internet and other communications didn’t exist back at the first Waco or Ruby Ridge. We now have some pit bulls tearing out the truth at the latest Waco and exposing the roots behind this travesty in Oregon. The feds are starting to back themselves into a corner. The MSM is no longer able to contain the narrative.

Zero is going to push hard his last year, and it may not go the way Valjar wants.

I lost my Oregon list when my computer crashed last year, so please send me your name by FReepmail if you want to be on this list.
