He got less than 1% of the vote. If all his votes went to Romney, Republicans might have won Florida, but that’s about it, and it wouldn’t have been enough to beat Obama.

Right...Gary Johnson's 1% of the vote is what cost Romney the election. And where's the evidence that the 1% who voted Libertarian would have voted at all if Romney and Obama were the only choices?
Republicans who blame Libertarians or other third party candidates for their losses remind me of Democrats who still whine about how Ralph Nader cost Al Gore the election: it's so much easier to blame (imagined) third party spoilers than to admit that your own candidates are so terrible that they can't even motivate people to turn out and vote for them.
Not really. Johnson "officially" got 0.99% of the popular vote; if every one of those had gone to Romney, Republicans still wouldn't have won.
It's more the fault of the GOP-e putting up such a pathetic, liberal candidate, by hook or by crook, in the first place.
