Cindy Sheehan was a useful idiot for the media. When she camped out in front of Bush’s ranch, wanting to meet with him, the media loved her.

That was the summer of Katrina as I recall. Then Hurricane Katrina hit, and Cindy went to New Orleans. While there, she said she was afraid of being shot by all the national guardsmen in New Orleans after the hurricane. But the media had moved on from her and she disappeared from public view.
