State Treasurer Ted Wheeler asked Gov. Kate Brown Thursday to suspend the Energy Department's troubled Small-Scale Energy Loan Program.

A $20 million dollar deficit awaiting a taxpayer bailout, not to mention all the other money that's been poured down the drain.

Wheeler has some (fiscally) conservative viewpoints, but he's about to become the Mayor of Portlandia. Nice guy, Old Oregon Family (wagon trains and all), but still liberal in a liberal town.
He definitely got this one right, and this kind of digging will help to solidify his candidacy.
