I am really stunned by all the ant-Cruz Freeper vitriol.

I can understand why some conservatives prefer Trump, even though his commitment to conservatism is questionable. I get the arguments in his favor: his immigration position, his war on PC, his handling of the media and other issues.

I understand supporting him because it’s arguable that he has the best shot at winning the White House (although honestly I don’t see Hillary or Bernie winning it under any circumstances).

I understand the concern that the NBC issue could cause problems. I understand being taken aback by his TPA and TPP vote. But he is still more conservative than Trump is likely to be, and he is virtually the only candidate who truly is focused on restoring our Constitutional rights and limits on the Federal government.

You don’t think he can win? OK. So vote for Trump. That may be the most pragmatic choice, and I appreciate that. But if nothing else, Cruz certainly deserves respect and appreciation.

The anti-Cruz vitriol I’m on this site is downright shocking. He is absolutely the most conservative viable presidential candidate this country has seen since 1984, and deserves much better from all Freepers.

So how does it benefit our country and the conservative movement to trash him? Frankly, I find it appalling. Cruz is one of the (very few) good guys running for office.

I don’t think he can win. But he gets to try IF he is an NBC.

I don’t know if he is or is not an NBC.

I don’t like that he is claiming it is settled law. He knows it’s not.

I would like to see him as SCOTUS.

I couldn’t agree more. Many of the people on this site who vehemently opposed Romney are now attacking Cruz with equal vehemence and supporting Trump, whom I don’t see as any more conservative than Romney and probably less so.

I don’t think it’s anti-Cruz so much as disliking some of the Cruz or Losers who have been insufferable in their denigrating both Trump and his supporters for the last six months.

I cannot understand hatred for T. Cruz and I cannot understand hatred for D. Trump. I would be satisfied with either.

It’s a response to horrifically hostile and childish anti-Trump postings by self-alleged Cruz supporters.

what does this “hatred” consist of? I look at the site a good bit and I haven’t seen any “hatred” toward Cruz. Is there a link to any of it that you can give us?

Very Simple

Ted Zeppelin is in Trump’s way, gotta be deflated and knocked outta the ring for Trump to win. Politics are not known for a nicey-nice quality.

His Time is Gonna Come

I take it personally when a politician expresses a desire to increase h-1b visas by 500%. That is a threat my livelihood and my family to appease the Cheap Labor Express™ and gloBULList corporations. Sorry when I read his name or see him that is all I can think of.

President Cruz, after a brief interlude to symbolically slap a few abusers on the wrist, will keep that h-1b visa thing going. I just instinctively know it.

I am really stunned by all the ant-Cruz Freeper vitriol.

Honestly, I ignore it. Sometimes, it amuses me. Posters are passionate; a select few are pathologically over-emotional.

Don't let it bother you. Things uploaded to this forum are just that: things.

You Cruz guys see "anti-Cruz hatred" everywhere. I don't get it.

Here's my position: Ted Cruz is a fine man. If he could somehow be made President, he'd do a good job. If he somehow gets nominated, I plan to vote for him.

HOWEVER

I dispute that, in a country that gave "Obama" 69 and 65 million votes, that Ted Cruz can be elected President. I do not believe he can win any state that Romney lost. I believe 207 electoral votes is a ceiling that he can't surpass.

And, furthermore, his skills at rhetoric, logic, and the US Constitution make a seat on the Supreme Court (for life) a much better fit for him.

I dwell among Reagan Democrats, and I have since 1980. They all love Trump. They all hate Cruz.

Is it logical? No. But picking the President by universal franchise voting is stupid.

However, that's how we do it.

The above analysis leads me to support Trump.

For this, all I get from Cruz supporters is ridiculous abuse. And, on the other side, I don't see any abuse (other than a settled belief that he can't win) at all.

I am really stunned by all the ant-Cruz Freeper vitriol.

Not surprising to me.

For 7+ years Cruz/Obama supporters have been undermining the natural born citizen debate. Does that help?

Thanks for the reasoned support of Cruz without trashing Trump supporters.

You summed it up very well.

I don’t understand vitriol aimed at Cruz. I’m for Trump right now but before that I’d have only voted for Cruz. Cruz is an intellectual and a gentleman. He’s not trying to denigrate his opponents.

I suspect that some of the vitriol is more a reaction to some of his supporters who believe that their own vitriol is A Good Idea and will somehow help him win. I wish both factions would knock it off.
