For me I was stoked when Cruz announced his candidacy. When Trump announced, I didn’t care until he started saying the things our true focus needs to be if we are to, I guess for lack of a better term, “Make America Great Again”. I don’t like Trumps personality, but I like his policies.
Some FReepers who are opposed to Trump have made Ted Cruz irritating by proxy. It’s not the opposition, it’s the tactics employed.
So was I, and I was perfectly good with voting for Trump if he were to be the nominee. Of late, it’s Trump’s tactics that are pissing me off, especially his apparent alignment with McCain, McConnell, the New York Times and the Washington Post. I, for one, can’t wait to see how this week’s debate goes; it’s now a Trump/Cruz show - at least until Trump and his allies manage to destroy a very decent man.
I came back to FreeRepublic after a long absence as a break from defending Trump and his supporters on Twitter even though I support Cruz. The establishment goons were insulting, haughty, and clearly displayed everything wrong with the modern GOP. When I returned I was shocked to see how Cruz and those who support him are treated by Trump supporters at FR. As someone who defended Trump’s supporters it has definitely had an impact.
Vice versa my friend, and I don’t like the vitriol coming from some for supporters of either candidate, and the candidates themselves.
I support Cruz, btw.
So criticize the poster rather than the candidate. Punishing Cruz for the irritating comments of complete strangers doesn't make much sense. Are you sure the only reason for trashing Cruz is the annoying behavior of some of his supporters?
