Who is Donald Trump?
American Thinker ^ | January 13, 2016 | Steve McCann

I applauded when Donald Trump jumped into the Republican presidential nominating fray. Here was someone with overwhelming national recognition due to his celebrity status, as well as someone who was politically independent due to his wealth. Someone of that stature could potentially drive a stake through the heart of the Republican establishment and forcefully blunt the folly of political correctness that has inundated American society. During the early stages of his campaign Trump exceeded all expectations in both of these arenas. However,as the novelty has begun to wear thin and his speeches and talking points have become annoyingly repetitive the question must be asked:who is Donald Trump?

.....he has dramatically changed positions on taxes, health care, gun control, labor unions, immigration and abortion over the past 20 years....there is no thinking person, much less a politician, that has not evolved in their approach and positions on various political issues over the years particularly as they get older and circumstances change.

While Trump's vacillations on issues over the years are not overly troubling on the surface, these dramatic evolutions do require a thought provoking examination of his character and who he truly is...

..In a deposition, conducted on December 19-20,2007,the following exchange between Trump and the attorney for the Defendant took place [Trump:I'm worth whatever I feel]:...

Over the years Trump has contributed enormous sums of money to individual Democrats and party campaign committees including the most unethical and partisan Senate Majority Leader in recent history-Harry Reid...[justifying]these contributions as being necessary to essentially buy influence in order to get his real estate projects etc. approved...

..but that does not explain when asked in February of 2014 who were his favorite journalists,he listed such liberal luminaries as: Maureen Dowd,Diane Sawyer,Andrea Peyser,George Stephanopoulis,Bob Scheiffer and Mika Brezinski...in 1999 when he quit the Republican Party saying, "I just believe the Republicans are just too crazy right."?......

Ok, that’s better.

I hadn’t seen this, but I had heard it talked of.

I do have to connect through an adapter, but I watch my iTines movies on my LG 3D.

I watch my video on it too, and it’s really nice to see it in 3D

I support Ted Cruz and am not sure about Donald Trump’s real motives or his ultimate goals.

But I do know that his enemies who berate him over comments on Muslim immigration are the best politicians and political contributors that Mu$lim Money is buying as in $audi and Gulf Arab $$$$ flowing into our business, educational and political system.

That money helps to hold up the ever increasing national debt supported by GOP leaders in Congress and puts the United States into Syria’s Civil War, among other things.

If Trump’s an agent sent to destroy the Republican Party, I’m not going to give a rip about it.

Trump needs to clear the air regarding all of his shady business practices. We don't want his campaign tied up with investigations and lawsuits.

O'Brien put Trump's wealth somewhere between $150 and $250 million.

Throughout the deposition, Trump sparred with O'Brien's lawyer, Andrew Ceresney, over how the real estate tycoon determined what he was worth.

Trump: My net worth fluctuates, and it goes up and down with the markets and with attitudes and with feelings, even my own feelings, but I try.

Ceresney: Let me just understand that a little. You said your net worth goes up and down based upon your own feelings?

Trump: Yes, even my own feelings, as to where the world is, where the world is going, and that can change rapidly from day to day ...

Ceresney: When you publicly state a net worth number, what do you base that number on? Trump: I would say it's my general attitude at the time that the question may be asked. And as I say, it varies.

But the deposition shows Trump's valuation of his properties can be at odds with others' views.

"Donald owns 40 Wall Street, which he spent about $35 million to buy and refurbish in 1996," lawyer Ceresney read from O'Brien's book. "The building has about $145 million in debt attached to it, and New York City assessors value it at $90 million. Donald values it at $400 million."

Trump reacts to the passage by saying: "Anybody would understand that a city assessment is 15 and 20 percent the value of a building."

When questioned about the return on his investment from several golf courses, Trump said he does his own math.

Ceresney: Have you ever done a projection as to how much you anticipate you will profit on these courses over time in light of the contributions that you're making in cash?

Trump: Yes, I've done mental projections.

Ceresney: Mental projections?

Trump: Yes.

Ceresney: These are projections that you've done in your head?

Trump: Yes.

Maybe astral projections.

Trump supporters mimic his bullying style, as well as his 4th grade level of discourse.

Seven months in, none of your crap sticking, one candidate out and another one headed that direction, do yo ever ask yourself if maybe you have the worst selection of race horses ever?

In 2019 will you please tell the forum who you’re backing in advance, so I’ll know at least one person I shouldn’t be backing?

I concur.

Oh, I’m sure it’ll be *much* worse, as soon as their buddies wake up and surge in.

For myself, a stage has just completed in the art room.

I must off to attend the next phase.

Been lovely!

Its funny that Trump gets accused of being so right, he’s a fascist. And so left, he hangs with all the democrats and gives them money.

People need to remember, Reagan was a democrat and head of a major union. And they said he was a fascist and too extreme to be president.

Thank you for your morning post. REading stuff like this, is like going to the gym to exercise my mind at 5 am. You see, it challenges my support of Donald TRump, and for that I thank you.

Unlike the followers of the other candidates, I’m 100% committed to Donald Trump for president. I admit at the beginning I was skeptical of him. Now I’m not.

YOur article does not dissuade me in the least. Nice try but no cigar.

Try posting something funny about Mr. Trump, or something clever, or something even tough, but accurate like the recent TIME piece that pulls no punches about him, but even Mr. Trump respects the piece.

Eventually, we will coalesce around one candidate. It will be Trump or Cruz or Rubio or maybe someone else, but we will unite beyond that person, even with our differences. I will support our candidate whomever.

So, I ask YOU. If Trump is our party’s choice, will you support him by voting for him? Yes or No?
