Cruz was educated at Princeton and Harvard. Guess he didn't have trouble with those not a country boy attitudes when he was getting his education.

I don't like agreeing with Peter King. But, mygosh he makes a point. Look at the way NYC handled 911 and Boston handled the Marathon bombing. Best not to mess wit those areas. They fight back and get stronger when they're attacked.

Peter King should flop back to the bathhouse.

I didn’t like Ted’s remark either but Peter King - that pro-IRA jackass - needs to shut it.

Cruz is referring to NY liberalism...& don’t worry Peter, no one’s going to join you under your rock...

I wish the ultimate RINO King would crawl under a rock. The problem is that if the Republicans hold onto King’s seat, they’d replace him with another RINO.

The NY values play is smart for Cruz and Trump. Attacking NY works for Cruz since he knows he has no chance of winning there. It also signals that he is against extreme liberalism and corruption. Defending NY works for Trump since he is a NYer and at least has a small chance of winning there.

If Cruz had referenced ‘San Francisco values’ or ‘Hollywood’ values everyone would nod their head. Or does Pete contend that NYC is actually representative of American values?

You have to have lived in New York to understand and appreciate what Cruz said.

The conservative audience knows what Cruz means by New York values. In the same way San Francisco values doesn’t mean a slam on Thomas Sowell, New York values is not meant to be a slam on 9/11 responders. All but dishonest people know it.

Some years ago a sort of New York everyman put median New Yorker values on display for all to see.

People who have never been to New York City thought this was a caricature. People who have had to go there recognized it as a perfect representation.

No reason for King to say anything. What Trump said was great and put Cruz in his place immediately. Trump was beautiful in his response. King is just being stupid and is late to the game anyway.

Ted struck a nerve. Keep going.

I'm from MA and I know what "Massachusetts values" are: Liberal.

Why is Pete taking offense? Unless...

Extremely wealthy people, no matter where they are from, are not going to wallow in Christian American values of the middle and working classes. Many are totally foreign or hostile to the American middle and working classes. That is the moral of the story about elitist PAC spending and buying politicians.

Wealthy people can buy their way out of behaving badly so it is not automatically single parenthood in poverty, jail, life or death for them. Money and elitist status can be the balm needed for a lot of sins not available to the working and middle class. They often advocate for sin.

Except in the case of Trump, who had a beloved brother die of alcoholism and turn against his family. He passed on that knowledge to his own children knowing that money can’t buy one out of all messes. He probably had a lot of other politically incorrect rules, that he won’t mention. We know he’s not crazy about abortion or amoral humanist ethics of selling baby parts.

Cruz’s life is not covered in wealth and he’s conservative with his own family, as well. He does not advocate sin.
