Ted Cruz has raised millions from New York donors
Politico ^ | 01/15/2015 | ISAAC ARNSDORF

Ted Cruz might say he has a problem with "New York values," but he seems happy to take New York money...

...Cruz's campaign raised $223,750 from New Yorkers, according to finance reports available through September. Robert Mercer, the hedge fund investor who has given $11 million to a pro-Cruz super PAC and is one of his most important backers, lives on Long Island.

Those donors are not coming to his defense now.

Ian Reisner, the hotelier who, with his business partner Mati Weiderpass, hosted a Central Park South fundraiser for Cruz last year, declined to comment. So did Michael Waldorf, managing director at the hedge fund led by billionaire Republican donor John Paulson.

Squaring his conservative rhetoric with his coastal cash drives was already awkward for Cruz. At a December fundraiser at the law firm Sullivan & Cromwell in Lower Manhattan, Cruz assured a Republican gay-rights supporter that he would not make opposing same-sex marriage a top priority as president, according to a recording obtained by POLITICO.

...Cruz has been tapping the Big Apple's big-money scene for years: New Yorkers also gave $489,883 to his 2012 Senate campaign, according to data compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics.

Then there's Goldman Sachs, the New York-based investment bank where Cruz's wife works. (She took a leave of absence in March.) His presidential campaign has accepted $43,575 from people at the company, and his Senate campaign received $96,700, not to mention the loan from the bank that he failed to report on his Federal Election Commission disclosure form, as The New York Times revealed this week.

Cruz raised million from loans in New York and broke the law in hiding them from the FEC. He was finished before this fact was revealed but he is now super finished. This man is a liar and he is not eligible to be president.

Cruz has apologized:
I apologize to the millions of New Yorkers that have been held down by liberal policies in New York City.

I apologize to the hard-working men and women in the state of New York who have been denied jobs because Gov. Cuomo won't allow fracking. Even though there have been many high-paying jobs just south in Pennsylvania, New Yorkers have been denied the chance to provide for their families.

I apologize to all the pro-life, pro-marriage, pro-Second Amendment New Yorkers told by Gov. Cuomo that they have no place in New York, because that's not who New Yorkers are.

I apologize to all the small businesses that have been driven out of New York City by crushing taxes and regulations.

I apologize to all of the African American children who Mayor De Blasio tried to throw out of their schools that were providing a lifeline to the American dream.

And I apologize to all of the cops, firefighters, and 9/11 heroes who had no choice but to stand and turn their backs on Mayor De Blasio, because Mayor De Blasio, over and over again, stands with the looters and criminals rather than the brave men and women of law enforcement.

In just a moment you are about to find out this is a non-issue.

Things Ted has done are all non-issues.

Sometimes I wish Free Republic had a probationary period.

Truly, and a sign up freeze starting about 6 months prior to primary season and stays in effect until a nominee is chosen.

Cruz lied on FEC reperts— Not once — but twice. He is not eligible to be President under the constitution because he was born in Canada. We don’t want Canadians as President in our sovereign nation so we wrote into our constitution. He is finished.

Why because I am posting an article that is detrimental to your preferred candidate?

Debate the merits of the article instead of attacking me because I registered in November.

By the way I have been lurking here since 2006, listen to Rush and Levin almost everyday, and voted straight ticket Republican since I was able to vote. I’m tired of Cultural Marxist bullies telling us to shut up, and until a moderator or Jim Rob himself tells me to shut up I will continue to express my views in a respectful and intelligent manner.

So, NOOB, are you trying to allege that Cruz is trying to put bridles into mouths of New York Libs?

I’m certainly curious how the Cruz faction here will behave if (when) Trump gets the nomination. Some will accept it and vote for him, like we would for Cruz should he get the nomination.

But I think the bulk of your group will continue to do everything they can to derail Trump.

So if it comes down to that, who would be supporting Hillary? The “pure” conservatives. The excuse will be “Trump is a liberal, so what’s the difference?”

Proving that if you square the IQ of those people, the number gets SMALLER. (And they won’t get that, either.)

Actually, I believe this proves that NY’ers knew exactly what Cruz was saying .. and that’s why they were supporting Ted.

No, I am pointing out that Cruz flubbed the New York Values attack and now his New York donors are giving him the cold shoulder.

This has to be the dumbest post I’ve seen on FR in a while. You’re an idiot if you think NY liberals are giving HIM money.

Well, of course they’re going to give him the cold shoulder after he put bridles in their mouths as you stated.

It appears the bloom is coming off the Rose.

Cruz is being exposed as just another of many, run of the meal politician.

Evidently you choose to deny how politicians earn their living. They take money from anyone who will give it to them, while making promises to help them in some fashion in return.

Rafael is a politician.

Just because we in this forum disagree vehemently with the homo Nazi movement, they tend to spend big money on their agenda, and politicians can’t say no to other people’s money.
