The moment came after Cruz called attention to Rubio's support for the failed 2013 immigration reform bill, which the Florida senator has been trying to distance himself from ever since.
"Ted Cruz, you used to say you supported doubling the number of green cards, now you say that you're against it. You used to support a 500 percent increase in the number of guest workers. Now you say that you're against it," Rubio said during the GOP primary debate, which was held in South Carolina and hosted by the Fox Business Network.
"You used to support legalizing people that are here illegally. Now you say you're against it. You used to say you were in favor of birthright citizenship. Now you say that you are against it," he added.
Cruz also flipped on his one-time support for Trade Promotion Authority, Rubio said.
"I saw you on the Senate floor flip your vote on crop insurance because someone told you it would help you in Iowa," he said. "Well, last week we all saw you flip your vote on ethanol in Iowa for the same reason. That is not consistent conservatism. That is political calculation."

Did Cruz belong to the Gang of Eight? I rest my case.
This loaded attack came at the end of the debate and Cruz was not given enough time to answer them. Good strategy on Rubio’s part, but not exactly fair by the moderators. If there was not sufficient time for Cruz to answer, then Rubio should have been cut off in his rapid fire attack by the moderators. They knew the time restraints.
This is all so unfair....

Liberal Donald Trump speaks about his "New York values"
Rubio will be the VP candidate with Trump. Here is why. Rubio is worthless. The VP is always a worthless clown. Rubio will sucker in the left overs of the establishment plus the Mexican vote. He will miss many critical tie breaker votes but Trump people will carry his 5’6’ ass in to vote at the last minute. And finally, the little amnesty loving SOB needs the money to pay off his credit card theft. TRUMP/ rubio 17!! ( what ever it takes)
Still chortling.
Thanks for some welcome relief from the slings and arrows richocheting through FR tonight.
Leni
Rubio can't defend his own record as being one of the leaders of the Gang of Eight. He has the worst record on amnesty of all the candidates.
Rubio has mastered the tactic of instead of defending his own record, he throws out accusations and misrepresentations of his opponents records. Then, the opponent has to spend time correcting the misrepresentations of his own record instead of the facts about the record of Rubio.
Last night he used this tactic against Christie and when he used it against Cruz, they didn't give Cruz time to rebut him.
What I have seen of Rubio is he talks too fast and tells lies the whole time. Weasel is my word for him.
God Bless you Leni. We are losing our country. It is time to stand up. I try hard.
If I remember correctly, “the media” declared Bush the winner in the last debate.
A fusillade smack.
Well of course they do ...... Mrs Bill Clinton can’t be forced to debate Cruz..... Clinton News Network Presstitutes have to fabricate the obvious to keep Cruz from making her Luze ......
what media? everything I’ve read has the top three the same as when they came in Trump, Cruz , Rubio. With Trump still way out in front but Cruz gaining a little.

It seems like a lot of analysts at Fox News support Rubio as well.
I started listing Cruz's 2013 immigration policies two years ago - with links.
And, I kept warning Cruz's most avid supporters that the Democrats were going to politically destroy him after he started flip-flopping in the GOP primaries.
I'm really surprised that “Gang of Eight” Marco Rubio was the first guy to attack.
But it's going to get worse when the Democrats rip that issue open.
For instance, how many people at Free Republic know that Ted Cruz was a co-author of George Bush's immigration policy platform in the 2000 election?
How many people here know that platform became the Bush-McCain Amnesty in 2005?
Now, I have no idea what parts of that policy Cruz wrote. And I have no idea if Ted Cruz ever spoke or wrote favorably about the Bush-McCain Amnesty.
But if he did, I guarantee the Democrats will find the evidence and make Cruz look like a liar and a political opportunist!
