As Professor Tribe observed Tuesday night, "It is clear that in the absence of some serious objection that is not now visible . . . he is very likely to be confirmed.â€

Trump praised Hillary. He defended her AFTER Benghazi. His extreme leftist past is a matter of record. Conveniently, he started bashing Democrats when he decided to run as a Republican.
I can easily see him dropping his “conservatism” and reverting back to his true Democrat self if he wins the Republican primary. It is not hard to imagine and that is terrifying when it comes to Supreme Court nominees.

I think so too. However, his Obamacare ruling should have opened up the floodgates on tax lawsuits since its enactment. Sadly, I have not seen that happen.

The more we learn about Cruz’s background, the more disturbing it becomes. I did not realize he was such an influential figure in the GWB administration. That’s disturbing, and makes me wonder where his loyalties lie.

The bottom line of my post is this: Cruz supporters love to bring up Donald Trump's past and associations and write him off because of them. My point is that you cannot judge people by their past associations, i.e., Cruz' support of Roberts. And if Cruz supporters want to use that bar, who you supported in the past, then where their candidate associated himself with someone who was a faux conservative is a fair point of discussion.
I am just as passionate about Trump, but you have to try and stay clearheaded. Believe me, I have days I am not.

I find your twisting of his statement to be creepy, not to mention your continued undeserved misquoting of that statement.
Yes- the day Obama took the oath and flubbed it up and they did a repeat in the WH without reporters. I believe that day Obama told Roberts, go along with me or else I will have your children removed from your home due to the illegal adoption.
That flub was an excuse to be one on one with a Supreme Court judge with no one watching.

Trump talking about Obama in early 2009:

The sad thing is that TC has an outstanding future as a scotus justice. IF he wanted the job. Looks to me like he doesn’t.
But then, someone 'got to' Roberts, most likely.
We need people who have all their dirty laundry aired before we elect or appoint them.
It's Ted Cruz and his supporters who have dubbed him the consistent conservative you can trust. My point is he is not perfect, nor smart enough to never be outfoxed. this is a case in point. Cruz and his supporters are the ones who consider him the perfect conservative. Some of us are happy with Trump and all his imperfections.
If I like who? I don’t understand what you’re talking about. I don’t see how anyone who supported Roberts can be blamed for how he ultimately voted. Nobody I believe saw it coming. There is no reason to denigrate someone who has been a really good conservative for us. You many not support him, but honestly. The nasty remarks are just so over the top.
Roberts was a conservative..up until he wasn’t. You have a right to not like someone, but to blame him for Obamacare is quite a stretch.
