We’re taking 20 boys so I don’t want a 2 hour drive to turn into 6 hours.
One winter weekend when there was 6 to 10 inches of snow falling, my son in Ranger ROTC asked Dad to drive him to the mountains for a 2 day and 1 night campout exercise for the squad. They dug a mildly down sloping trench, covered it with tarps and had a fire going at the bottom. They slept in a row head to toe, head to toe, about 8 or 10 of them. They put their boots in the foot of the sleeping bag so they wouldn’t have cold boots in the morning. In the middle of the night the guy ahead of my son rolled over and wack went the boots on his head. He finishes his 20th year in Special Forces this year. I guess that is what you call a hardhead.
