Interesting. I assume the current cheap diesel fuel benefits the trucking industry vs rail some also.

That looks like all of their SD70’s, -8’s, -9’s and all of the other older locomotives.

The rail yard that I work at, we put a whole bunch of older locomotives like those into long term storage. Most of those have been replaced by brand new locomotives being delivered now.

Nonetheless, in 2014, most of those units were probably still in service.
