U.S. Rep. Greg Walden, R-Ore., on Wednesday urged the remaining protesters occupying Malheur National Wildlife Refuge to leave.
Walden, whose 2nd Congressional District encompasses Harney County and the rest of Eastern Oregon, issued the following statement on Wednesday morning:
"I've been in close contact with local and federal officials throughout this long standoff, and we had all hoped for a peaceful conclusion to the situation in Harney County. Sadly, our hopes were shattered with the shooting that occurred during last night's arrest."While we wait to learn more details and next steps, we must keep the people of Harney County in our hearts as they are a strong community and have endured a great deal.
"Once again, I urge those who remain at the refuge to go home before anyone else gets hurt.
"And when this done and the cameras' glare turns away from rural Oregon, the healing process will be a long one. Widespread frustration will continue until people in rural American feel like they are being heard and meaningful changes are made to federal land management policy."

Walden is a RINO open borders scumbag. The ag-corps who employ mostly illegals here in eastern Oregon put him into office.
With that being said, most of the people out here know why the feds want everybody off of that land down in Harney County, and that corner of the state.
There’s a shitload of various mineral ores under that land, including copper, mercury, REE’s, and uranium.
I’ve been down that way doing some rockhounding, and I can see why they would want to clear off everyone from that region. The geology there is rather interesting.
Heard some “analyst” on Fox say that it was “suicide by cop” — because they had been “told” not to talk to the Oregonians in the next county.

I think the reason that most Americans' heads explode when you start talking about the Nazis is because most Americans are "Good Germans". You hate most that which you see in yourself.
Walden is a pretty reasonable Republican. He was my rep. Not perfectly conservative, but very good.

if law enforcement cameras support the current eye-witness claims of a cold blooded shooting - then the only way any ‘reason’ can come forth is the prosecution of the law enforcement officer(s) involved. If that isn’t addressed, this whole issue will fester and be inflamed even more.
