Was Lavoy carrying? If he was, was the weapon in his waistband? In a holster?
Weapon reported to be in an inside coat pocket, left side I believe. Of course the cops didn’t know where the weapon might be but they knew he was probably armed as he had advertised the fact and said he wouldn’t be taken alive if cops tried to arrest him. He was right.
I think Lavoy made a terrible string of mistakes. He had several opportunities to defuse the situation and kept escalating it instead.
