What I find striking is that police and FBI in fuergeson and other ‘hot spots’ around the country were given the ‘stand down’ orders likely by the president- but in this case there was no such stand down order even though Bundy’s group wasn’t anywhere near as violent as those in fuergeson and the wallstreet occupations etc

Where were rubber bullets?
There is zero doubt that the death of this father and husband was absolutely unnecessary. That should be the focus as this goes forward.
We need the sound and all other recordings of this event to determine is the hands going down was intententional or a part of:
1. a taser
2. a shot from a weapon, whether striking him or not
3. being addressed or surprised from behind by that officer who might have done or said something or caused some sound or alarm.
And therein lies the rub...
Exactly. And these people were all in the middle of nowhere and bothering no one. There was absolutely no reason for this showdown. If they had been left alone eventually they all would have probably just drifted off back home.
