If you have ton of real estate especially in dem controlled areas...you need to bribe them. That entails being false freindly with them. Iyou battle them ...you lose. A smart business man will always keep his enemies close especially when profiting their extortion turf. That is life and its very commen.If you start becoming a political idealist when the opposite side can cause problems thats not smart at all.
Not just Real Estate but also other business that is if you want your business to grow. I have a relative who works among the community and the political scene here in California. He stated that many Republicans donate to Democrats because Democrats has a stronghold on the state. Sometimes you have to pay just to “wink wink” grow your business.
