The liberty movement must help elect Senator Ted Cruz the next President of the United States.
Many of us in the liberty movement saw the handwriting on the wall some time ago, as far as the Rand Paul campaign was concerned. He came in a distant fifth in Iowa, a state many thought he would win a year ago. His polling looked bleak in the other early states, and he was short on resources.
He likely could have gone on, but instead, suspended his campaign Wednesday morning. He'll focus on securing re-election to the Senate, which he should easily accomplish. This turn of events has caused many of us in the liberty movement to despair, and even question the viability of the movement itself. This must stop.

We cannot simply throw up our hands, take our ball, and go home. To do so would validate every criticism the establishment makes about liberty Republicans. That we're not really Republicans. That we don't understand the value of coalitions in politics. That we're children who pitch a screaming fit the moment we don't exactly what we want. This will not do.
In service of that principle, I believe wholeheartedly that liberty Republicans must work to elect Senator Ted Cruz, of Texas, the next President of the United States. Along with Senator Mike Lee, he's stood with Rand more than anyone else in the Senate. True, he's not perfect, but he's very good, and we can't let the proverbial perfect be the enemy of the good.

We expect the bipartisan immigration deal of 1986 to be fully honored, this means post-1986 scofflaws from outside the USA need to be deported. There are queues awaiting them in Mexico and elsewhere. Queue up.
The American leftists’ dreams of ~90% top tax rates are a few million people short of reality.

If Constitutional limits on taxation and government benefits are on the bargaining table, higher immigration quotas can be too.

Obama just signed TPP which Ted Cruz made possible by voting for TPA.

But I think the Trump mystique is fading rapidly. Trump cannot hold a position two days in a row. One day he’s gonna sue Ted Cruz for Iowa. The next day he loves Cruz ... would like him for his veep.
How can anyone trust Trump on something major?
I think Ted Cruz has solid, unwavering support just as he has solid unwavering positions.
Actually, Obama was going to sign TPP regardless of whether or not TPA had been passed. And this version of TPA allows either house of Congress to decide that if TPP doesn't comply with the terms of TPA. If so, then no fast-track process. IT also requires a minimum of 3 months after the agreement is signed before the agreement cant even be introduced to Congress, and the agreement has to be available for public review during that time.

Very few Trump supporters understand the intricacies of Ted’s moves in the Senate.
Like their idol they just lash out without letting facts bother them.
Trump's lead in NH has dropped anywhere from 5-7 points in the last three days, depending upon the poll. There are 5 more days before the vote. So it is hard to say what his lead will be by Tuesday. He could actually be running BEHIND Rubio by that time.
Why don’t you ask Dr. Carson what candidate savaged him horribly when Carson was leading in Iowa.
Actually Ben Carson had pretty good overall numbers when Trump launched his vicious and unfair attack on Carson.
He called the people of Iowa stupid for being for Ben and he called Ben mentally unstable.
Trump basically took Ben Carson out of contention with lies and attacks.
Cruz has never had a bad word to say about Ben.

Yes, the trend is our friend. And Trump is trending down.
His silly tweet wars are diminishing him. And his tantrums haven’t done him any good either.
Occasionally, he comes to his senses, controls himself and says something smart. As in saying he was over Iowa and doesn’t want to fight about it anymore.
But Trump is not psychologically capable of keeping to it. He will lose his temper again and make a fool of himself.
His core supporters here have too much invested in the man to own up to this but the country is seeing it.
Or it could be an accurate and economic description. There's certainly nuggets out there for Cruz, IF things work out right. In the end though, the description is accurate.

First, we need to settle the question of whether he’s even Constitutionally qualified. I’d be satisfied with a Congressional resolution like the one McCain got (since Congress receives and certifies the Electoral College vote, they’re the ultimate authority in this area).
You have been around as long as I have here, does it seem like this election is full of meanspirited, gottcha kind of disscussions and comments? I know I have said some stupid things in the past. It seems particularly nasty this time.

If Trump loses NH, I think me might quit right there and drop out. He hates spending money on his campaign. He’ll stop if it looks like he’s not a sure winner anymore.
