Good info, and see my reply #42 just under yours. The ASCAP law basically agrees with what you just said. If an ASCAP license is obtained, the license holder has public performance rights to the entire ASCAP catalog. So all these whining recording artists can go shove it. Or they can remove their catalog from ASCAP and negotiate directly for every public performance license.

Also, thanks for pointing out the hypocrisy regarding the Christian bakers not having the right to decide who gets to consume their products.

And though i did not read all of the http://scholarship.shu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1277&context=student_scholarship article, it seems worthy reading for those who really are interested in this issue. And indeed the hypocrisy regarding the Christian bakers not having the right to decide who gets to consume their products is ignored. Imagine a Muslim commercial artist refusing to create a song for the celebration of the modern state of Israel, or a homosexual one for the American Family Association. These would be exalted as heroes in the MSM, and as victims in the case of any objections to them.
