Although the youtube vids can be shut down if there is a copyright complaint (and there has been) until the music is taken out.

True, playing music at an event is fair game. You don’t need permission to play a recording in a bar, just pay ASCAP or BMI. Reproducing it (as in an ad) you need permission.
