"Out of an abundance of caution..."

Absolutely laughable. Are there militia units threatening wildlife refuges all over the Northwest?! It's actually a pity that there aren't.

I thought that the militia had left after the leaders were caught?

The leaders were caught. There were still a few protesters at Malheur (last I heard) & they wanted assurance that they would not be arrested or prosecuted before they left.

for the well-being of our staff and visitors,

as opposed to the ill-being caused to the Oregon Refuge staff and visitors.

The BLM is deserving of any ‘ill-being’ they’ve been subjected to my the militia. They’ve been behaving like jack-booted thugs for years, allowing burns that damaged private property, killing & injuring cattle, & depriving ranchers of their grazing & water rights. They should’ve been evicted long ago.

Agree.

My point is that the ‘Occupiers’, oops ‘Militia’, have not caused anyone any ‘ill-being’.

Their emotions have been heightened, with encouragement from the feds and sheriff. The Fear they feel is blamed on the Occupiers, but in reality is due to the presence of the feds.

In my area, the blm (lower case in purpose, to show disrespect) is jack-booting miners and 4-wheelers.
