Once the move to the cashless society, then it will be a bail-in on all bank accounts to keep the fairy dust and merry-go-round a turning. A very bad day is a coming folks and it will all come tumbling down after the election.

That’s not the only, or the worst, thing of which a cashless society will be a harbinger.

We haven’t stopped the baby murder so if we head to a Godless ConMan or a Godless Commie, what’s the diff?

I doubt we have the sense to do better.

This country just exceeded $19 trillion in external debt with no end in sight. Our debt now surpasses our annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and we join economic powerhouses like Spain and Greece. Taken as a whole the 28 members of the European Union are at a debt level of 162 % of their combined GDP and the G-20 members are at 74.8%. With so many of the largest economies in the world behaving so irresponsibly, we are probably in trouble.

Central bankers should understand that printing more money and driving interest rates into negative territory is really a bad idea. But then just how squishy are they when comes to resisting the anxiety of politicians whose understanding of economics is limited to believing only large increases in the money supplies allow them to keep their jobs.

Trying to pass laws against the business cycle is never a good idea. If humans were meant to control rather than respond to the economy, God would have given them moral courage and infallible intellects.

Negative interest rates is Capitalism eating its seed corn.

The days of individuals, families or groups saving up to start a business is going to get much harder when your savings are worth less each day.

Only the FR church lady weirdos could turn a thread about interest rates into a weird Bible discussion.

This is one of the main reasons why I'm not supporting Cruz. His supporters are just effing weird.

Bad time to win the powerball and be forced to buy in everything but the final thirty thousand dollars.

Note that bills are serialized. These days those s/n’s could be readily scanned and reported at each transfer with available technology.

Anyone pushing for a cashless society just shows how out of touch they are with the reality for many at the lower end of the economic spectrum in this country. The idea that the many people without bank accounts are suddenly going to be able to handle a cashless system is ludicrous.

If the Feds do away with cash, another medium of exchange will be found. The old axiom, “ bad money drives out good money still holds true”.

The cashless society is a pipe dream; here in NJ the only economic “growth” is the underground economy (and it isn’t real growth because it is replacing the former legitimate economy). We have a nice weekly flea market in the NJ Meadowlands (next to Giants Stadium), where people spending solely cash buy food, household items, etc. - and it is located next to a giant mall that was completed years ago but never opened. Unemployed Americans sell their tools to the illegals that took their jobs, and nobody has ever charged me sales tax on items I’ve bought.

A shrinking, not growing, segment of the population of the population is going “cashless”.

Put your funds into tangible precious metals.

Steel, lead, copper first.

Then gold and silver when you can’t fit any more guns and ammo in your house, barn, shed, bunker etc.

Any move to bring about a cashless society in the US will result in CW 2. There are many in the hinterlands whose only means of trade is cash.
