Washington (AFP) - CIA director John Brennan has said that Islamic State fighters have used chemical weapons and have the capability to MAKE SMALL QUANTITIES of chlorine and mustard gas, CBS News reported.
"We have a number of instances where ISIL has used chemical munitions on the battlefield," Brennan told CBS News, which released excerpts of an interview to air in full on the "60 Minutes" news program on Sunday.
The network added that he told "60 Minutes" the CIA believes that the IS group has the ability to make small amounts of mustard or chlorine gas for weapons.
"There are reports that ISIS has access to chemical precursors and munitions that they can use," Brennan said.
Brennan also warned of the possibility that the Islamic State group could seek to export the weapons to the West for financial gain.
"I think there's always the potential for that. This is why it's so important to cut off the various transportation routes and smuggling routes that they have used," he said.

This means they have the recipe, which has always been the critical issue we argued during the hunt for WMDs in Iraq. Terrorists are not attacking with large munitions systems.
They will attack with small quantities where people in the west congregate in large numbers.

Mustard and Chlorine Gas?
Definitely chlorine gas, yes.
Battle grade and dispersable?
Yes, two common household cleaners.
Household Bleach + Acid Cleaner = Chlorine Gas
Of course the delivery mechanism isn't created by accident.
Anyone can make Chlorine gas. Mustard is a bit more difficult.
Bleach and ammonia (a base). Some number of people are treated for chlorine gas inhalation after using this combo to clean a toilet bowl. There are trivially easy ways to make the process more efficient, using only household chemicals.
Chlorine gas + subway = Trump victory. The question has never been would the islamofascists kill millions, it is and has always been, CAN THEY KILL MILLIONS? Someday the answer will be yes.
ISIS might already have their hands on the WMDs that our 'friends' (according to the FR Putinistas and TRUMP) in Russia snuck out of Iraq and into Syria just prior to the war.

Weaponized chlorine (bertholite) must have higher concentration and acceptable delivery systems to maintain that concentration. Weapons levels of chlorine can be detected by sampling levels of chlorine in the soil of areas attacked.
