That would be a great article, if it weren’t for the fact he’s winning the base too.
Evangelicals, self-described very Conservative people, men, women, Blacks, Hispanics..., Trump is doing well with all of them.
Spitter, sputter, all kerfuffle and flutter...
How can Trump be doing this? Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

LOL. The base is solidly behind Trump.
But Rush’s boy Rubio is not doing too well.
Rush’s predictions have been wrong everytime.

He gets the biggest share of the base.

I love Rush. He is a national treasure. I can’t tell you how many times he has made an observation about the political scene which was downright prophetic.
Rock on, Rush!

I have a question for Mr. Trump and his supporters, should he win the nomination.
What makes you think you can win the general election with only 35-40% of the vote.
If you think you will garner the other primary opponents supporters votes after the lies, mocking & insults you might think twice.
Do you really think Trump will garner enough Democrats in the general election?
Explain to me how you get winning numbers after the Primaries?
I've said I'm Cruz/Trump.
But I'm seriously considering taking the time vote for every Republican on my Nov ballot, except Trump. ...should he win the nomination.

Rush warned of this in 2012 with Romney as well. The biggest difference was that Romney didn't go out of his way to anger supporters of other candidates.
Rush: Romney is winning like a liberal

Rush Goes On the Record with Fox News Channel's Greta Van Susteren (December 2011)
Here's the big problem, Greta, for the Republicans. And I am a lone wolf on this. The rule of thumb in elections, both parties, 40 percent are going to vote Democrat automatically, whatever you do, 40 percent are going to vote Republican, automatic, no matter what you do. And in the middle, who do we have? The precious, God love them, independents and the moderates. And they are the targets. They are the focus of every election. And our brilliant campaign consultants tell our candidates they are the ones that know how to go get a majority of those independents. And we have, as Republicans, put ourselves in prison to this whole silly notion that you only win elections by moving to the center and getting great independents. Fine and dandy, but if you squander your base in the process, you haven't a prayer.

No fair, no fair! Only moderate GOPe are supposed to play the open primary game!
To: Kaslin
“Tries to Win the Republican Primary Without ONLY the Base” would have been a more accurate headline.
Trump is certainly not the best conservative in the race, however he may be the most conservative in the race who can win.

No, Rush, the polls are not all over the place....there’s one pre-debate internal Bush PAC push poll that had Cruz essentially tied with Trump, but there are three larger polls post debate that show a similar situation as NH.
