Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump has fallen behind Ted Cruz in the national GOP horserace, according to a brand-new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.
In the poll, Cruz is the first choice of 28 percent of Republican primary voters, while Trump gets 26 percent. They're followed by Marco Rubio at 17 percent, John Kasich at 11 percent, Ben Carson at 10 percent and Jeb Bush at 4 percent.
There are 4 new polls out. Here they are, including the NBC/WSJ poll.

Only the NBC/WSJ poll has Cruz anywhere near the lead.
So for now, it’s an outlier.

You are right on target about Trump.
Cruz is the ONLY true Conservative.
It is close to the supposed internal poll the Bush campaign did, so at least two polls are getting similar results.
I tend to not believe it and it sounds like an outlier. Both Suffolk and the Q-Poll are out today and show Trump well ahead. Additionally, why is Trump doing so well in South Carolina if he's behind nationally? Just doesn't make sense.
This poll will be the Mother of all Get Out the Vote pushes for Trump.

Buoyed by strong voter dissatisfaction with the Republican status quo, Donald Trump holds a commanding double-digit lead over all his rivals in South Carolina, according to the latest Monmouth University survey of likely primary voters released Wednesday afternoon.
Trump earned 35 percent, followed by 19 percent for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, 17 percent for Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, 9 percent for Ohio Gov. John Kasich, 8 percent for former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and 7 percent for Ben Carson. Just 5 percent of voters say they remain undecided among that group.
Overall, 42 percent said they are completely decided ahead of Saturday’s primary, with 31 percent indicating that they have a strong preference. Just 11 percent indicated a slight preference, while 17 percent said they are undecided on their candidate

And yet the sTRUMPettes will defend and deflect in droves. I like Trump for some qualities but he needs to go after the dems not the pubs. This is a time for the two main candidates to circle the wagons.
I wish two more candidates would drop out: Bern and Hill

I will believe it when I see it, not to mention that the “poll” could have asked ANYTHING that favored Cruz, basically stacking the deck in Cruz’s favor. I have NO, ZERO faith in polls and never have. Polls are like noses, everyone has one and they are all different.
