Gowdy Says 'Significant Breakthroughs' Were Made in Benghazi Probe After Susan Rice Testimony

Rep. Trey Gowdy's Benghazi committee appears to have had a very productive meeting with national security adviser Susan Rice this week. Following her testimony Wednesday, the chairman said they have made "enormous progress" in their investigation.

No one is soon to forget how Rice went on several talk shows in 2012 repeating the lie that the Benghazi terror attack was the result of an offensive YouTube video. Congressional Republicans were so frustrated with her repeating the same false talking points that they asked for her resignation.

Now, she was finally called before the Benghazi Select Committee, and from what it sounds like, she was cooperative. The panel interrogated her, along with deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes. Gowdy said that these testimonies and access to crucial new national security records have nudged the committee closer to finding answers.

"While there are still witnesses to talk to and documents to review, these significant breakthroughs are big wins that will help the committee complete the most comprehensive investigation into what happened before, during and after the Benghazi terrorist attacks, and release a report as soon as possible," he said.

Someone didn't do their job on the night of September 11, 2012. Security contractors on duty that night in Benghazi claim the CIA's delayed orders contributed to the deaths of four Americans. The soldiers were ready to go protect the U.S. consulate following the first gunshots, but they say they were told to "stand down."

Democrats may claim the Benghazi committee is wasting tax dollars on a biased witch hunt, but even the security contractors who were on the ground in the dangerous region defend the panel. After all, "it's the only committee that's actually talked to everybody."

The list of disappointments in DC is long- Paul Ryan, Eric Cantor, as soon as they get into the rarified air and learn how they can line their pockets, they lose their principles- if they ever really had any.

Term limits.

Rice, Clinton and bammy have already gotten away with it. The public can hold only one idea in its “mind” at one time.

Gowdy’s just another “conservative” blowing hot air. His endorsement of Rubio revealed him to be GOP hack. Go away, Gowdy.

Gowdy has done everything possible to shield the LEADERSHIP of BOTH PARTIES for their Criminal Acts regarding Benghazi. Rubio promises to keep the club intact and the game afoot, which is why Gowdy is supporting him.

FU GOWDY, You are nothing more than a quisling shill for the Establishment Uniparty.

ALL THINGS INTELLIGENCE, INCLUDING BENGHAZI IS GIVEN APPROVAL BY THE SENATE SECRET INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEES, COMPRISED OF AN EQUAL NUMBER OF SENATE LEADERS OF BOTH PARTIES.

sorry for screaming, but people need to wake yup.

With all due respect to Mr. Gowdy... What have we achieved here?

"Trey Gowdy "says". Yes, unfortunately "talk" is the only thing that Gowdy ever does."

Yep. As the pro athletes say "Show me the money". Then maybe I'll believe your gibber-jabber.

Democrats may claim the Benghazi committee is wasting tax dollars

I hate to say it but I'm starting to agree with the Democrats in this. Even if Democrats' obstruction is the reason, it's still a waste of tax dollars unless the final report says more than "a few mistakes were made. here are some minor things to do different next time" Hope I'll be proven wrong.

“Rice, Clinton and bammy have already gotten away with it. The public can hold only one idea in its “mind” at one time.”

Sad but true.

Short of a video or audio recording of Obama or Hillary saying “F*** It, we’re not gonna come to the rescue of these guys” being released, this is a dead matter.

“Of course, if one had to choose between Bernie and Hillary - arrggg.”

I’d take Hillary for the election. Bernie will bring out lots of young people and gimedats.

A lot of people will stay home if its Hillary.

Trey needs to return to fighting crime in South Carolina. He has not done well with this case on a national level as they’ve been able to grind him to a super slow pace.

No indictments, trials, or convictions have come from this. Oh, but we have had hearings! Hearings that have lead to MORE hearings! Whoop-de-friggin’-do. Has anyone had so much as their hand slapped?

I think he’s a willing participant in the game. Fits with no results ISSA and the GOP bending over backwards to give Obama what he wants.

All part of the one world plan.

If we lived in a nation where Gowdy could just give the order and a black car would pick up Hillary Clinton and she would be immediately hung, wouldn’t the Democrats have sent the black cars for us and stretched OUR necks by now?

Doing it right takes time.

Hearings conductors that start out all Bulldog like Gowdy and Issa seem to always end up like one of those sneezes that don’t actually happen.

No, he did not please try to not be a du-esq conspiracy twit.

He also did not use the ability to have open hearings for the people to see how badly the dept of state under h.clinton was run.

Had it not been for this investigation the server issue would never have come up. I am disappointing in gowdy but please people try to keep a grasp on reality.

Until about 3 or 4 months ago when he apparently was “given an offer he couldn’t refuse” by the Clinton Crime Syndicate and 0bama Street Thugs, I respected Gowdy.

This is why someone like Trump is such a great candidate. He can avoid the carrot and stick. He doesn’t want the gold bullion in the Swiss account, nor is he afraid you can get to his kids with a horrible accident. Everyone else can be “had.”
