“End welfare abuse. Applicants for entry to the United States should be required to certify that they can pay for their own housing, healthcare and other needs before coming to the U.S.”

When I travel to some countries on business, I need a VISA. Part of the documentation required is that I have the financial resources in place for the trip and that my company confirms they will make sure I will not be a financial burden on the country I’m visiting.

China is a big one for this.

I have no issue with the USA requiring the same for those who wish to come here.

It used to be that way. Immigrants needed a sponsor for the first five years who would promise to take care of their medical expenses and finances if they could not do so on their own. This was changed by the Kennedys...Ted, I think.

Common Sense, that is. That must be the reason we are known as the 'common man' DC elites were never in possession of 'common sense' This is why Trump is one of us, the 'common man'. He has retained more common sense than any of the free loaders elected to their cushy chair positions. Go TRiUMPh

I had to prove I could afford my Filipina wife before they would grant her a K1 VISA (fiancee’).... in 2009
