Trump campaign poaches Koch staffers: report
The Hill ^ | February 21, 2016 | Bradford Richardson

Posted on 02/21/2016 1:27:37 PM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

The Donald Trump campaign began courting top staffers with the Koch-backed group Americans for Prosperity late last year, in order to bolster its ground game ahead of big primary nights in March, according to BuzzFeed News.

The billionaire businessman's campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, is a former AFP state director whose intricate knowledge of New Hampshire paid dividends in that primary.

One top AFP staffer in a March primary state said he was approached by Lewandowski, who told him Trump "was for real. He's going all the way."

"Anecdotally, I'd say a lot of people have been approached," another source close to the group told BuzzFeed. "It’s not surprising. The staff is the best trained and most experienced."

BuzzFeed said the recruitment effort failed in several states, but the campaign was able to lure some people, especially those who had previous worked for the group but had moved on.

The Trump campaign's ground game was criticized after an underwhelming finish in the Iowa caucuses.

Trump admitted at the time that his campaign "could have done much better with the ground game."

Well, I’m a typical NYer. I thought he meant Ed Koch.

Get a life, CW. You have a habit of picking losers.

You have a habit of picking losers.

Indeed.

You'd think it would give pause. But no.

Only if the objective was to promote a candidate. If however the objective is to clog the forum and bait members into nonproductive dead end dialog and steer them away from more pertinent issues, it is a successful tactic. For one to engage in utilizing it successfully for years, lays bare her intent.

Nice move by Trump, willingly diving further into the GOPe fold by accepting the assistance of the Koch brothers, but spins his gullible followers into believing he working against the GOP by calling the help "poaching".

His tricks are sort of brilliant in their ability to trick the slow witted. It's like pretending to throw a ball to confuse a dog.

“Get a life, CW. You have a habit of picking losers.”

In an incredibly public way. If I got burned by a fool like Walker, I’d spend some time introspectively and stop passive aggressive posting for a while. But that takes shame and the desire for insight. No evidence of that here.

Trump has already beaten his competition, eaten their lunches, drank their milkshakes and stolen their strawberries.

President Donald J. Trump...get used to the sound, it’s going to happen and this failed country is going to be made Great Again.

~~Go Trump Go~~~~Go Trump Go~~~~Go Trump Go~~

“The newspaper’s conservative-leaning editorial board”

There is no such thing anymore.

They should be told to take their due date and stuff it up their backside.

I actually subscribed to WSJ in the late 1980's and early 1990's. I liked their editorial positions, even if the rest of the paper was meaningless to me.

Their editorial board has been completely co-opted.

Not half as fun as watching the cruznadians. On that note, how about a joke?

Q: why do you never see cruznadians at the beach?

A: cats always try to bury them in the sand!

Oh noooes! A candidate who hires people of proven skill and competence away from others! How can anyone vote for someone like that? And he could have paid Mike Murphy only 14 million, like the Yeb donors.
