Jeb donors shattered by failed campaign

Jeb Bush's K Street supporters are reeling from the sudden end of his presidential campaign.

After pouring donations into the coffers of the former Florida governor's campaign and super-PAC, many of the lobbyists who worked to put Bush in the White House are feeling shell shocked.

Of the two-dozen Bush-aligned lobbyists contacted by The Hill, almost half said they plan to take a break from presidential politics.

"I feel like I need to take a breather and watch from the sidelines over the next couple of weeks before diving back in," said Kimberley Fritts, CEO of the Podesta Group, when asked whom she would be supporting next. Fritts had previously worked on Bush's gubernatorial campaign.

Al Cardenas, a senior partner Squire Patton Boggs and Bush campaign advisor, emailed: "Jeb is a close personal friend, not just a political ally. His loss has deeply saddened me. I have avoided all incoming. Will sit this out for a bit."

"I'm in mourning," said a Bush bundler who asked to remain anonymous.

“Sudden end” ! That’s funny.

It was over months ago, and thousands of FReepers knew it.

Any Jeb donor who is surprised and shattered is a complete idiot. People could see this coming from a mile away. He NEVER was the frontrunner. Never. He had money last Spring. He topped the polls because of name recognition only. But once the competition remotely started last summer, he dropped like a stone.

This really upsets me - NOT! They paid good bribe money for a seat at the power table. Trouble is that they weren't lobbying for Americans who have been betrayed by the GOP establishment for decades. Had they any idea of the animosity and outright rage at the machine by those in drive-by America, they'd have spent their bribe money more effectively.

CEO of the Podesta Group? Wringing her hands over Yeb! Don't make us laugh. On second thought, it highlights everything that is wrong in DC and how the GOPe really prefers playing nice with their Democrat betters.

He never had a chance. And entering as late as he did, didn’t help.

Trump has spent much less than that and stands an excellent chance of a candidate he can trust. Himself

These elitists who have trashed the US still think they can buy anything without having to do any of the hard work themselves.

HOLY HEDGE FUND! Jeb-You/re-Next spent over $125 million on his failed campaign? The GOPe must be choking on the chilled Cristal, Oestra caviar, and stuffed lobster in the country club Grill Room.

==========================================

IMHO, the ignominious collapse of Jeb-You/re-Next drove a huge stake into the heart of the establishment GOPe. Forget erectile dysfunction. The fallout of being politically castrated is devastating to a powermonger.

The GOPe/s de-b***ing began when candidate Jeb said he didn't need the Republican base .... and proceeded to carry on, business as usual, as his numbers sunk into oblivion.

Jeb telling a key bloc of Republican voters to take a hike is the consequence of the country club GOPe demeaning and dismissing conservatives as not being worthy of their elite party.

The entitled Jeb-You/re-Next took it as Gospel when he heard the Bush elders condescending attitude towards conservatives....people to whom the aristocratic Bush/s feel socially superior.

But the GOPe should know this: they will get no pity from conservatives for their woes......and we aim to stick their noses in the mess they made every frickin chance we get.

things to ponder...

The Podesta group mentioned as one Jeb Bush’s SuperPac donors was founded by Anthony and John Podesta.

And we all remember John Podesta as:

Former White House Chief of Staff
John David Podesta is the Chairman of the 2016 Hillary Clinton presidential campaign.

Seems that Bill Clinton, brother by another mother, dragged others into the Bush Clan, Inc.

Yeah, that envisioned Bush-Hillary battle would have been as real as professional wrestling.

Uni-Party Cronies, one and all.

Go Trump!

I still can’t believe he even THOUGHT about running for president!

I could have told him he would never be elected, and for a lot less money. Does he not know what his last name is?

Aww, poor things. Who would want to live with such great disappointment? Maybe Jeb: will return their kindness, by “helping” them like he “helped” Terri Schiavo.

The Jeb campaign was a scam.

Mike Murphy sunk over $100 mil in the Meg Whitman campaign in California and lost to a guy who spent a quarter of that amount.

The polls a year ago were clear that Jeb wasn’t going anywhere and that Bush fatigue was real. Mike Murphy scammed a lot of donors selling the idea that Jeb had a chance.
