Another guess / observation on my part: It has been my opinion that before Trump entered the race Cruz's strategy was to use conservative talk shows as his media spearhead. He spent years doing DC stunts designed to get him on talk radio all the time and he thought he would then cash in on that relationship. I actually never thought Cruz was serious about winning the nomination. It was assumed Bush would win. I speculate Cruz assumed he would come in second to Bush and maybe picked as VP or if not picked he would get to become a GOP power broker. I am assuming this based on Beck and Mark Levin seeming to sound like they work on the Cruz campaign almost.
Then Trump comes in and upends Cruz's strategy.
It is just speculation on my part.
