'He's a fool': Trump fires back at 'tough guy' Romney
The Washington Examiner ^ | February 24, 2016 | Al Weaver

Donald Trump fired back at former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney for wondering Wednesday if a "bombshell" was sitting in his unreleased tax returns.

Fresh off his victory in Nevada, Trump fired off a trio of tweets at Romney, calling him a "fool" and a "tough guy" for his attack, adding that he should have beaten President Obama as the Republican nominee in 2012.

>>>Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrumpWhen Mitt Romney asked me for my endorsement last time around, he was so awkward and goofy that we all should have known he could not win!<<<

>>>Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump "@Ward_II: Oh great @MittRomney is doing a @SenatorReid on @realDonaldTrump like losing the presidency wasn't enough #Trump2016" He's a fool<<<

>>>Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump Mitt Romney, who totally blew an election that should have been won and whose tax returns made him look like a fool, is now playing tough guy<<<

Earlier in the day, Romney told Fox News' Neil Cavuto that he worried over the fact that Trump, Sen. Marco Rubio and Sen. Ted Cruz had not released their back tax returns for "several years" as Romney had in 2012. He added that there is "good reason" to think there's a "bombshell" in Trump's taxes, given his wealth.

Feb 19, 2016: Wall Street Journal calls on Trump to release tax returns

The Wall Street Journal is calling on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump to release his tax returns by the end of the month.

The newspaper's conservative-leaning editorial board wrote Friday that Trump must prove he is as successful in the business world as he says he is.

"One of Donald Trump's claims to presidential competence is his business and financial success, and so he should want voters to see the proof beyond the gilded staircases," they wrote. "He could enhance his credibility on the point by releasing his tax returns."

The Journal catalogued Trump's repeated dodges on the question of his tax returns. They noted that he said in January that "I have everything all approved," but said last week that the returns will still take several months.

"Waiting that long suggests that he'd wait until he wins or loses the nomination, which means before primary voters can get a look," the editorial said.

It warned Trump against falling into the same "bad political mistake" 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney made in waiting until two months before that election to release his returns, allowing Democrats to spread speculation about Romney's finances.

The Journal noted that Trump's rivals Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz have not released their most recent tax returns, but both publicized their returns when running for Senate in recent years.

Trump on Wednesday accused the Journal of having it out for him........" [but he's not thinned skinned]

Donald Trump's 2 Minute rant on Rosie O'Donnell [but he's not thinned skinned]

Donald Trump's 25-year quest to prove that his fingers aren't short [but he's not thinned skinned]

On calculating his own net worth:

Ceresney: Mr. Trump, have you always been completely truthful in your public statements about your net worth of properties?

Trump: I try.

Ceresney: Have you ever not been truthful?

Trump: My net worth fluctuates, and it goes up and down with the markets and with attitudes and with feelings, even my own feelings, but I try.

Ceresney: Let me just understand that a little. You said your net worth goes up and down based upon your own feelings?

Trump: Yes, even my own feelings, as to where the world is, where the world is going, and that can change rapidly from day to day...

Ceresney: When you publicly state a net worth number, what do you base that number on?

Trump: I would say it's my general attitude at the time that the question may be asked. And as I say, it varies.

On having a thin skin:

Trump: I'm very thick-skinned if they tell the truth. In other words, I've had many bad articles over the years, and if they're accurately bad -- I mean, some things are bad, some things are good -- I can really handle it well ... Where I do become thin-skinned is when somebody writes bad things that are untrue."

On his valuations of his properties:

Ceresney: Have you ever done an analysis to determine whether the amount that you have contributed in cash to these golf courses is more or less than the amount that you have made from these golf courses?

Trump: It will be. They will all be very good investments in the future. This is ... this is a business that you start off slow, and then you get more and more members, and all of a sudden it becomes extremely profitable.

Ceresney: Mr. Trump, I asked you have you ever done an analysis?

Trump: No, I have never done an analysis.

Ceresney: Have you ever done a projection as to how much you anticipate you will profit on these courses over time in light of the contributions that you're making in cash?

Trump: Yes, I've done mental projections.

Ceresney: Mental projections?

Trump: Yes.

Ceresney: These are projections that you've done in your head?

Trump: Yes.

Isn’t it time to give it a rest? Mittens played a nasty trick today... claiming the returns had a “bombshell” but then speculating all over the place about what it might be. I have truly lost all respect for Romney at this point.

Nov 26, 2012 - Donald Trump: Mean-Spirited GOP Won't Win Elections ....."The Democrats didn't have a policy for dealing with illegal immigrants, but what they did have going for them is they weren't mean-spirited about it," Trump says. "They didn't know what the policy was, but what they were is they were kind."

Romney's solution of "self deportation" for illegal aliens made no sense and suggested that Republicans do not care about Hispanics in general, Trump says.

""He had a crazy policy of self deportation which was maniacal," Trump says. "It sounded as bad as it was, and he lost all of the Latino vote," Trump notes. "He lost the Asian vote. He lost everybody who is inspired to come into this country."

The GOP has to develop a comprehensive policy "to take care of this incredible problem that we have with respect to immigration, with respect to people wanting to be wonderful productive citizens of this country," Trump says.".......

Feb 24, 2016: Cecile Richards: "I Appreciate Donald Trump's Kind Words About Planned Parenthood"

"Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has been taking criticism from pro-life voters for his repeated claims that the Planned Parenthood abortion business does "good work" and "wonderful things." Today the head of the abortion company took notice and said she appreciates Trump's kind words about it.

"This is one thing I agree with Donald Trump on," Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards said.".........

There is a limit to how much garbage a troll can post here without generating a movement for zotting. You have to know that, right?

You Can Easily Judge the Character of a Man by How He Treats Those Who Can Do Nothing for Him

............"Trump has made little secret of his inclination to strike back hard - on the campaign trail and in the courts - against anybody who opposes him. But the secret deposition in the San Diego case calls attention to the danger that a Trump presidency could turn into what one lawyer who has sued Trump called a "litigation circus" in which a sitting president would be forced to submit to multiple depositions and even jury trials as a result of ongoing civil lawsuits.

Little noticed while he has emerged as the Republican frontrunner for president, Trump remains mired in litigation on multiple fronts. In addition to defending the Trump University suits, he has initiated legal action in the past year against restaurateurs and the Univision network after they pulled out of business deals over his comments about Mexican immigrants. He has also recently threatened to sue rival Ted Cruz on the grounds that he is not eligible to be president because he was born in Canada. At a CNN forum Thursday night, in response to a question about his propensity to threaten opponents with lawsuits, Trump replied, in part, "I have wonderful lawyers. I like to send letters."

Just last week - three days before Makaeff made her court filing - a judge in Washington, D.C., overruled the objections of Trump's lawyers and ordered him to submit to a deposition in a suit he filed against one of the restaurateurs.

As Yahoo News noted in August, none of these cases would go away were Trump elected president. In 1997, the Supreme Court ruled unanimously that presidents are not immune from civil litigation while in office, rejecting Bill Clinton's claim that he should not be subjected to a sexual harassment lawsuit brought by a former Arkansas state employee, Paula Jones." -- Trump is accused of financially threatening woman during secret deposition

Gotta admit, I am morbidly curious to see how much further folks like CW will descend into abject zaniness before an intervention occurs.

Once he’s the nominee it will be too late to face these character and legal issues.

Hillary will win.

The Supreme Court become a permanent tool for the advancement of Socialism.

Don’t call for me to be banned, defend Trump if believe that he’s your knight in shining armor.

I have no trust in the man. Everything he says has multiple sides, he attacks people personally, he sues people constantly - imagine him with control over the Department of Justice - the IRS - all the legal departments of all the government agencies. That should frighten everyone.

It’s called vetting.

Romney’s hypocrisy is astounding. He didn’t release his tax returns either for the longest time.

Shows how desperate the establishment is.

You see no indication of any hypocrisy in Trump’s positions - his flexibility on the issues?

Is that a perk not a problem for you?
