Trump Blames ‘Lousy Earpiece’ for Not Denouncing David Duke
The Daily Beast ^ | 2/29/16

Donald Trump blamed a “lousy earpiece” for why he claimed he didn’t know who David Duke was during a CNN interview on Sunday.

On NBC’s Today show Monday, Trump said he knows who Duke is (a former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan who will vote for him), but claimed he never met him.

Trump also said he only didn’t know the white-supremacist groups that host Jake Tapper asked him about.

Nevertheless, Trump refused several opportunities to denounce the racists supporting him. On Sunday night, he tweeted that he disavowed their support.

Well, no one talking about stupid tax returns today. Another day, another tactic that is sure to bring him down. This is the one I tell you.

More gotcha journalism. But it keeps Trump on the air 24/7 while Cruz and Rubio are nowhere to be seen.

Trump is being smart by dodging this standard mainstream media attack tactic. Trump does not have the slightest idea of who David Duke is, so why should he get involved in denouncing him. This is simply a needless distraction.

LOL - Trump SMELLED A TRAP and wouldn’t step into it. Why else ask such a STUPID QUESTION? Once again he has OUTSMARTED the media.

My guess is that what NBC planned would have gone like this:

Trump: The KKK can go to hell for all I care (i.e., the answer they were looking for)

NBC: But in 1995, the Fraternity that YOU HAD BELONGED TO had a member’s brother-in-law that had said, and I quote: “blacks are getting too much welfare”. How do you square the position of the RACIST FRATERNITY you belonged to, to your new-found position against what the KKK stands for.

I suspect his radar was warning him of something like that coming.

Anyone who believes this is not going to be voting for Trump anyway.

Media ass-kissing Joe Scarborough, who the media blasted a few days ago for treating Trump “to nice”, came out with a hit piece on him in the Washington Post and basically said Trump is a racist bigot who’s destroying the “party of Lincoln”. That creep has gone full liberal since he sold his soul and moved in with the radical leftists.

Trump claimed later that the earpiece was bad and he couldn't hear the question clearly. That seems unlikely.

Two possibilities:

(1)To create a media firestorm so everyone will be talking about this, putting him at the center of attention and diverting attention from stories like whether he will release his tax returns.

(2)He doesn't care about being elected--his purpose in running is to destroy the Republican Party. The net impact after the details are forgotten will be to make it easier for the Democrats to claim that the Republicans are no different than the KKK.

Ear piece troubles? He seemed to hear all the other questions okay in that interview.

>>the Republicans are no different than the KKK

The Republican Party is a lot like the KKK: they strut around saying that they will do this or that and then it just proves to be nothing but talk.

Trump disavowed David Duke in August 2015, when he first endorsed Trump.

You are proud that your candidate is so clueless that he doesn't know who Duke or the Klan are?
