Sen. Ted Cruz responds to being a potential Supreme Court Justice
CBS news ^ | 2/29 | Tim Perry

During an interview for Face the Nation, host John Dickerson asked Republican presidential candidate, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) if he would consider accepting the vacant spot on the Supreme Court after the sudden death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. This comes after Republican presidential candidates and Republican members of the senate have vowed not to approve anyone President Obama nominates during his last year in office.

"That is not a job I'm interested in." Cruz said and added, "The job I'm interested in is appointing 3, 4, 5 Supreme Court justices, is defending the constitution."

The Texas senator vowed that as president he would reverse the damages done by Barack Obama and that he would be "faithful and vigorous defending the constitution."

Pretty much as I figured. I don't think anyone with Presidential aspirations, especially someone of his age, would "settle" for being on the Supreme Court.

Too bad he’s not interested, he is eligible for that job.

Actually, I think that was a “yes”. It’s just that he won’t get a real offer until President Trump calls him. Until then, he can keep trying to win the election, and asking for a different job doesn’t help with that.

I think Cruz might have temorarily lost his way in this campaign but he would make a great justice.

It is not an issue of settling. I’m sure he would be happy to take it at some point in his life. But right now he is fully invested in his campaign. It was a weird question. I assume it was an effort to make him look like he was considering dropping out of the race.

He’s more than eligible and would make a great justice. Burning that bridge isn’t good for him. Doubt he will make president. Numbers aren’t there.

He’s not eligible either. Once people have 4 years to think about it, he is screwed on that.

Few are called butt Teddy demands to be king. So dogmatic that he only sponsored and passed into law one bill. Ted will compromise on nothing and therefore has accomplished virtually nothing.

Smart people realize an SC Justice servers for Life and cumulatively has a greater impact then an 4 year term as President with a uniformly hostile Congress

No surprise here.
A guy running for POTUS is not the kind of personality who wants to spend the rest of his life on SCOTUS.

Cruz won’t even be prime POTUS age for another 3 or 4 campaign cycles.

Glad he’s not interested. That will fit nicely with the offers he is not going to get, based on all those decisions he hasn’t written.

The Math isn’t there.

Nope it's not, even if he was nominated there is no way the Dems or the backstabbing reprobates in the GOPe (who all hate him anyway) would confirm him.

Why Cruz is more dangerous than Trump (explained in less than 2 minutes) - (And Reich even draws pictures for us)

This is a “must watch” video! Please share it with friends and family!

By Robert B. Reich who has endorsed Bernie Sanders because Hillary’s economic proposals are too modest. Reich was a Clinton administration Secretary of Labor, 1993 – Jan., 1997

If the GOPE and the Progressives prefer Trump over Cruz, that’s good enough for me….

I’m voting for Ted Cruz!

After watching him on the campaign, I dont think he would be a very good choice. Tends to stretch the truth a bit.
DR Kevin Gutzman would be the best choice of all. Of course, the supporters of the one mentioned above, would slander him like they slander everyone else.
BTW! To you Cruz supporters who say you will not vote for a candidate Trump. You will be culpable of letting a admiited felon and traitor into the White House if she gets elected. You will be as big a criminal as she. You never admired Reagan as he would have supported the nomination of who ever got the nomination on the GOP side.

Jeez. Get a freaking grip.

The tear down of conservatives this election cycle is gross. I got off the Trump train when he decided to go down that road. This type of ridiculous attack makes matter worse and makes me question even supporting Trump in the general. He would still have my vote today, but it is approaching McCain level of excitement level...better than the alternative.
