Gosh, Jeff, I'm not sure about that. The elite have such a superiority complex that they really believe in themselves, and only themselves. It's their mission to educate us into the wisdom of letting them run things uncontested. If that fails, they take it as their obligation to defeat the masses by any means necessary.
Trump threatens their order of things. It isn't that he'd fail, it's that he and others, if we succeed, may not have the upbringing and loyalty to understand the way things are.
My whole life has been "both sides of the tracks". Don't much like it when the elite profess to be smarter, better educated, or more capable than I am. I suspect a majority of US citizens feel this way now. We don't much trust the elite, and after today's Romney speech, we realize that we don't even like them.

It is clear that the GOPe are on the cusp of showing themselves openly to not care for the country or its future as much as they care for their own trappings of power.
The Tsunami we are seeing is really about that...and that was what I tried to convey to Romney.
