“The voters DID choose Obama TWICE!”

The article is about Republican voters.

And the point is not that every vote is correct. It is that the voters should decide. If not, just eliminate the primaries and pick candidates at the convention.

Judas committed suicide, and some will argue that in itself precludes heaven, although I don't find scriptural support for that position. Recently, here on FR, I had an interesting discussion wherein I mentioned that there will be many people we will be surprised to encounter in heaven. My correspondent said, "I wonder sometimes how many people will be surprised to see me there!"

Practically, understanding that our actions have eternal consequences should affect how we treat people now, people we may be spending all eternity with.

Thank you for referencing that article Hebrews 11:6. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

"Voters are always right for the same reason the customer is always right – they are the ones who decide."

I disagree with the idea that the voters are always right. Since evidently most voters have never been taught about the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers, voters have blindly built the USA on sand; Matthew 7:26, 15:14.

I’ve actually read a post, here, that offered Romney cover, for what he’s attempting to do to Trump and Trump voters, via the 1st Amendment.

Did you ever think you’d see the likes, on this forum, of defending Romney and the Cheap Labor cabal’s *right* to attempt to disenfranchise voters?? And, to hide behind the 1st Amendment in doing so?

I wonder if that’s the ‘talking points memo’ being sent out by one, or more, of these GOPee campaigns.

sparklite2:You mean re-electing Obama was the best thing for the country at the time? I shudder at how bad the alternative must have been.

AEMILIUS PAULUS: The voter is always right? Nonsense! Look what the American voter elected as President-TWICE!

The author's point was that the RNC should respect its voters and nominate Trump or Cruz. In 2008 and 2012 the DNC did respect its voters and nominated Obama. Continuing the principle that the voter (customer) is always right, if the general election winner is prevented from assuming office by some shenanigans by Congress or the Courts, then this principle will be violated. Instead, voters elected Obama twice and their expressed will was honored.

Bingo. Even 100 yrs ago they voted for the Socialist for 4 terms, allowed to continue SS, income taxes, welfare, mediXYZ, education take-over, etc.

I wouldn’t trust anyone else to NOT vote to lay shackles upon another; they seem to have NO problem reaching into the wallet of another....FREE!

“Voters are always right” not in any substantive sense but rather to the organization, the political party, which is founded by and operated for them.

Think of it this way.

The boss may not always be right,
but he’s always the boss.

What a thrilling story! Welcome to our large and growing family, brother! Every born-again conversion experience is unique, being individually-suited, but all of them have certain basic things in common. Your eagerness to share yours is one of them. Mine happened in 1977, so He's had more time to work in and through me, but ultimately that all evens out.

Again and again recently I've had occasion, this being another, to speculate that in heaven we will all be very eager to hear each others' stories. You and I have had an introduction to each others', but even we don't know everything yet about our own stories. God will reveal to us just how He worked in this situation and that one while we were unaware, and our stories will become even more wonderful. So, in addition to the obvious reasons we'll have for praising Him (seeing Him more clearly, Jesus' atoning sacrifice, etc., etc.), we'll be praising Him for all the miracles He's done in our lives.

To that end, let me recommend an excellent recent book to you: Miracles: What They Are, Why They Happen, and How They Can Change Your Life, by Eric Metaxas. I've given away a dozen copies, and no one can put it down. Speaking of reading, do you have and read a Bible?

Before I retired as a manager, I had this sign on my office wall:

RULE 1: The Boss is always right

RULE 2: When the Boss is wrong, see RULE 1

RULE 3: Always laugh at the Boss's jokes

Don’t have to wonder. We are told that he was a “son of perdition”. Only used twice in the New Testament. Once referring to Judas in John 17:12 and the second time to the Antichrist in 2 Thessalonians 2:3. And he committed suicide the ultimate act of despair and giving up on God. Seems clear he will enjoy the same fate as the Antichrist.

Heard Bill Krystal state that if Trump is elected then the GOP will be divided, but if they get someone else then the party will unite.
Then he went on to say how it is months away and people will change their views form all this.

It seems the establishment thinks we should pick their guy, whether Kasich, Cruz or Rubio while if we choose our guy the party will not vote and unite.
The they insult us by saying we will forget on what they are doing.

Like hell and they still take us for idiots.

I have often wonder the result if Judas had not betrayed Jesus. He was destined to do it. God knew he would so does it not lend that God had him do it? ... Ow my head.

“Voters are always right for the same reason the customer is always right – they are the ones who decide.”........

Problem with that theory is the GOP doesn’t give a rats behind what the voters think, they do things their own way, precisely why Trump is doing so well. The people are pissed at the GOP and WILL REPLACE THEM SOON.

With all due respect Hebrews 11:6, please consider the following. The reason that the idea of low-information citizens is floating around is that you’re ultimately going to shoot yourself in the foot when you make a decision when you don’t have enough information to discern the good choices from the bad choices.

Consider the decision to get an abortion for example.

Sorry, friend, but you've missed the entire point of the article. The author asserted not that "voters are always right" in some general sense but rather only to the political party which they form. If the administrative and titular leaders of that party (the "GOPe" in this instance) ignore the votes of those who make up that party, the voters will leave that party, transferring to an existing party or to a new one, or giving up on politics; or else they will overthrow those faithless leaders, who exist not to enact their own preferences but instead to enable and empower the party's voters whom they represent. The same is true of every democratically-constituted organization, as manifested in its bylaws, be it the RNC, the DNC, the PTA, IBM, or Congress itself.

I think DaveA37 expressed it rather well in post #35.:

Problem with that theory is the GOP doesn’t give a rats behind what the voters think, they do things their own way, precisely why Trump is doing so well. The people are pissed at the GOP and WILL REPLACE THEM SOON.

The voters are right even when the leaders don't "give a rat's ass," so the voters will soon demonstrate that in one or more of the four ways I mentioned in post #37.

I agree with you to an extent. The article is presenting the “trees” view. I am arguing the “forest” view.

Citizens need to get themselves up to speed with the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers and start taking responsibility for the politicians that they send to DC.

True enough, and the internet has certainly assisted in that. Ultimately under that premise, in every case but one, we end up with the government we deserve. The one exception is to be governed by the God of grace, not as we deserve but as He provides from His boundless love through His Son the Atoner.
