The point of the article was not that he wears suits made in China....
The point is, the suits he manufactures, with his name on them, are made in china.
This is the guy who says he wants to ‘bring business back to America’.
He has to deal with the situation at it is now, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to change it!

Trump sells his name to vendors. Macy's, before they dropped him, had their Trump apparrel made in china. Trump had nothing to do with that. He has said he didn't like it, but that is to be expected.

Because he’s playing by the rules that the current government has fostered just makes him a good businessman. As President, he will have the opportunity to change all of it. I’m willing to give him the chance because none of the rest of them give a fig about foreign made goods and our balance of trade because they are being financed by those who like everything just the way it is.

One must be competitive. It costs too much here. Too many regs, etc., etc.. No point having a business that isn’t price competitive. You wouldn’t sell enough to stay in business. That’s a problem Trump wants to fix.
What Trump says about bringing biz back to America is echoed in all of our biz circles. We ALL want to see America competitive again. America is NOT competitive. That is exactly what Trump is saying! It’s a very consistent message.
Yep, and he can do this starting with his own companies and he can do this TODAY. But alas, cheap labor is holding him back.
What Trump has said he will do is increase the cost of importing, and make trade more fair in the case of subsidies so that the pricing of an American manufacturer is competitive with a foreign manufacturer. As Trump pointed out, one of his friends would love to buy John Deere but the cost of the Japanese version is just too much less expensive, and he has to run his business to make a profit. His shareholders insist on it. So he buys the Japanese earth mover.
Do you understand yet? If not, I don't think the problem is the explanation.
