Rush just kinda let the cat out of the bag. Was relating a time he talked to Cruz after Romney lost.
He caught himself and backtracked, but was saying Cruz was preparing to run for President back then.
He was convinced that everybody who stayed home in 2012 were evangelicals and to bring them back would be a winning strategy.
Problem is, Ted is not getting the evangelical vote he thought he would
oh! Listening now but missed that part.
Interesting because I have heard it mentioned on FR that a lot of people (evangelicals) had a rough time with Romney because he is a Mormon and didn’t come out and vote for that very reason.
I guess Cruz thought the same.

Yes, we have been listening to Rush now. I am pretty sure his brother, David, has explained to Rush what is really going on in the world today.
The other interesting thing is that Donald Trump took out the Trademark on “Make America Great Again” a month after Romney lost. So he has been planning a run as long as Ted Cruz had. Ted just decided to use his Senate run to finance his Presidential run and get some name recognition, by bashing the “Washington Cartel”.
Now with the Bush finance team openly supporting him, we can see that this was all a cynical exploitation of religion to achieve a very worldly goal.
Every time Donald Trump says, “I love you!” to a crowd, I am reminded when Jesus said:
John 13
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.
