The people at Tedstate must not care much about the 2nd Amendment. A tragedy at an event like this would be unhelpful to RKBA.

Violent rhetoric from both the protesters and Trump leads to an atmosphere that is dangerous. Guns in a situation where people are emotionally-charged and trigger-happy could be catastrophic. Are the guns to be blamed, or the people who are emotionally-charged and trigger-happy?

Fact is, it takes both - motive and opportunity. It takes a chamber filled with explosives and a spark to start it on fire. The best thing for safety’s sake is to avoid both the explosive chamber and the spark.

Which is what Ted Cruz was saying. But nobody really listened to the letter or the spirit of what he said.

When the Tea Party was being falsely called violent the members knew they would be baited to cause violence. Everybody was very careful to say we needed to NOT fall for the bait.

A little bit of that wisdom would be useful right about now - because BLM, moveon.org, Bill Ayers, La Raza, etc ARE violent thugs. We all know that. We need to not be stupid. That includes everybody, including Red State. And this claim - though protected free speech just like Trump’s words were - is NOT HELPING.

That’s all Cruz was saying. This emotionally-charged, trigger-happy atmosphere is NOT HELPING. It is setting up conservatives to be blamed for another Reichstag Fire. And we all know that’s what Obama wants. Let’s not be stupid, guys.
