Well, the dailymail headline doesn't say mooslimbs so they must be mistaken. Just some radicalized persons who, as we've been reminded over and over, have nothing whatsoever to do with the religion of pieces.

What Americans in their right mind would take their family on a trip here?

Moderate Muslims are the tall grass in which jihadi terrorists hide undisturbed.

That’s what I was thinking. No shortage of [safe] beach resorts out there.

Bad headline. you have to read the story to understand.
However the American embassy in the capital Abidjan, which was monitoring the situation closely today, said there was no evidence that US citizens were being targeted, nor were there any reports of them being harmed.
But, one twitter account from alleged attackers said they were targeting a western delegation envoy. None was confirmed yet.

Exactly! Why go to any country that is having trouble with ISIS or even unrest with countries that are (and I know this isn’t politically correct) Muslim majority countries. At this point I would not go to Germany or England either.

The only places I would like to see in Europe are the ancient ruins in Rome and Pompeii.
However, I wouldn't go anywhere near Europe right now ... and probably not for a long time.

The only places I would like to see in Europe are the ancient ruins in Rome and Pompeii. I visited Pompeii in July, 1966. To get to the highway leading there, we drove from the campground where we were staying just outside of Naples through the streets of that city, where we saw the scunizzi, the young street hoodlums, in action.
We were following a flatbed truck loaded with crates of tomatoes. When it stopped at a red light, some kids darted out, grabbed one of the crates, and then ran off.
At Pompeii, we were besieged by vendors selling trinkets, notably cameos, for which the place was famous. One of them, desperate for a sale, actually grabbed onto the door as our car began to move and continued to make her sales pitch through the window.
Despite these experiences, Pompeii was well worth the visit. Interestingly, in 1966, I saw no evidence of Islam anywhere we traveled in Europe.

I visited Parris Island in Oct, 1966. Liked it so much I stayed 3 months :)
Thanks for the trip report - I would imagine (and hope) things have changed in Italy.
I know (and I'm glad) Parris Island hasn't changed.

In the 60s, Algerian muslims rioted in France and caused a lot of mayhem.
The French police murdered many of them, dumped the bodies in a river, and the problem sorta solved itself.
